Local Forecast / Weather Channel CD
« on: July 04, 2007, 12:02:41 PM »
There have been a lot of rumors of this highly controversal topic but I found an article that says that TWC will have a music cd now that they are licensed.http://www.reuters.com/article/musicNews/idUSN2218266820070623 TWC also plays much of the music from music packages, something I hadn't known before.

And boy I wish I knew the names of those two mystery Ryan Farish style songs from November.

You mean the jungle song and this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBG1qhIBnTw

The problem is that the songs names are unknown.

Programming and Graphics / TWC new icons, to like or not to like
« on: July 04, 2007, 10:26:46 AM »
Bringing a topic/poll  back from Twcclassics. I love the old icons. Especially because you can tell a regular thunderstorm icon with two stikes and a severe icon with 1 strike. The new icons I absolutely hate!

I wish they would play GOOD ryan farish music. Niot the horrible stuff on his new Everlasting album, but good
classics from either his Daydreamer album, or Selected Works.

And man am I sick of Brian Hughes!!! :censored:
I agree. The only good song from Ryan Farish's Everlasting album is Wildflower. The other songs in the Everlasting album are awful. It's about time that Brian Hughes needs to be removed and Eddie Reasoner's music be played. Some of my favorite Ryan Farish songs include Groove Factor, Letting Go, HIghland and Sunflower. And boy I wish I knew the names of those two mystery Ryan Farish style songs from November.

Local Forecast / Why did the lfs go back to a K flavor?

I personally do not like the 1:30 timed local forecasts on :18 and :48. I'd love to hear an additional :30 of music. Is it perhaps to save time for that bogus Head On commercial?

I personally do not like this playlist. I have heard Together We Will Conquer more times than I can count. The other songs on the playlist do not sound like forecast music to me. In fact, they all sound the same to me!
Me neither. The new music guy's choice of music is awful. There are are way too many jazz songs. A goodb playlist to me has less jaz music, good Ryan Farish music, and songs that are low toned/techno type.

I'm a fan of the Nintendo 64 and Playstation. I also like the many classic arcade games such as Joust, Sinistar, Robotron 2084 and PacMan.

I'm hearing a bunch of guitar songs, a song with a chorus in the background, Wildflower by Ryan Farish, Together We Will Conquer by Ryan Farish and a Brian Hughes song.

Certain places such as Bluefield, WV and Montpelier, VT have a WeatherXL system. Some such as Panama City, Fl have a WeatherStar 4000, Syracuse has a Weatherstar JR and most of the other cities have the IntelliStar. Is there a way to find out which communities have specific types of WeatherStars? I'm curious becasue I like to know what other cities have a WeatherXl and 4000 system. The cable company, AFAIK, decides what WeatherStar to use.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Whose your least favorite OCM?
« on: July 02, 2007, 02:02:46 PM »
I would have to say Dao Vu. There's nothing special about her but I would hate to have her leave since she's the only Asian OCM  with those sexy "cat" eyes!
Dao Vu's not a meteorologist. ;)
Oh well. She's still my least favorite. ;)

No, there will be no more off topic in this thread. I just removed a bunch of OT posts, and Gil or anyone else had better not post anything else OT in here, or anywhere else on this forum.
That's a relief!
