OCMs / Re: Mark Mancuso
« on: April 08, 2014, 12:46:58 PM »
Speaking of Mark Mancuso, I had the honor of eating out with him this past Saturday night. I am in the middle and the other man, Jim Edds, went to the Philippines last November and shot footage of the devastating Typhoon.

I saw your photo on Instagram - very nice pic! I wish I could meet a former or current TWC met.

Programming and Graphics / Re: New Graphics coming to TWC

I preferred hearing the same two (or three) songs on the local forecasts instead of the vocal music.  I'm simply not a fan of the current popular styles, and hearing the song's lyrics competing with the forecast being read is very annoying.  To me, it's just another attempt by The Weather Channel to attract audiences by pretending to be a top 40 radio station.  And just think of the money they could save if they weren't paying those royalties...!
Actually the music played is not the top 40. There playing Adult Alternative. Plus out of the past 2 years I have only heard about 1-2 twc vocal songs on the hit radio station. Since I'm in High School I know no one really knows these twc vocal artists. Maybe one here and there. Trust me if twc played top 40 vocal songs so many people would be angry cause of all the trash in the music. Twc would need to be updated to a TV-MA channel. Although we all miss the Jazz days, we got weather nation. Jazz music 24/7. Hopefully comcast will pick it up. Think of it now as 2 weather channels, choose your music preference. Plus Roku carries weather nation. Although advertisments interrupt your forecast every 10 min or so.
I hope Comcast picks it up as well. We all can hope.  :whistling:
Comcast won't pick it up in your dreams. Comcast owns NBC which owns TWC, they never would let competition take over one of their prime networks.

some songs from the March 2004 list:

Ron Fattorusso - Just Standing Around
Ron Fattorusso - Grover, Thanks
Ron Fattorusso - Soft Breeze

Ryan Farish - Sea Of You

Joyce Cooling - Sleight of Hand

Steve Glotzer - Double Latte

John Boudreaux - James Black's Idea

Lenny Marcus Trio - Take Five
That was a solid playlist, Sleight of Hand was one of my favorites

Does anyone know how I can get more twitter followers without following them back?

That's a good question.  I've always found Twitter a little strange, because unlike Facebook where if you friend someone you automatically see what they post and vice versa, with Twitter, you can follow people but then also have to have followers to see what you're posting (or tweeting).  I too wish I had more followers.  I guess one thing to perhaps do is frequently use hashtags or mention someone's name in your tweets and then they will see your message and follow you.
It's the same thing with Instagram. I don't really want to buy more Instagram/Twitter followers because I don't know if it's worth it. I want at least 1,000 followers on both my accounts and it's hard to do it when people keep following to unfollow me. I post a lot of great pictures/important tweets and wish I could get more recognition for my work

I really hope so. This winter has been too cold and too snowy. I am ready for winter to end and longer days/warmer temps to arrive!

Maybe "Seduction" by Boney James? used in 2003
Nope, and my mistake. It turns out the artist of the song is "Bassic" and not by Ryan Farish, but the YT video with that song was erroneously credited to Ryan Farish. So, it hasn't played after all. I looked up the Daydreamer tracklist and didn't find "Seduction" in it either.

How about that Stanley Jordan song? It's from the album Dreams of Peace

Was Easy Love by Stanley Jordan used before?
And how about "Seduction" by Ryan Farish? It is from the Daydreamer and I could've sworn it was on TWC before but I can't pinpoint the date.

Anyone with satellite noticing issues with the SD LF? The SD LF is zoomed in too far towards the top left and it's been like that for nearly an hour now. It's only the LF that's zoomed in too far, everything else is ok especially when programming is on. I can't be the only one

EDIT: Seems to have been fixed now
