That sucks, Hoitsma was always on time and professional. Would Malko respond to our messages now?

OMG I hope he's not gone. I recently emailed TWC for Dave Schwartz's autograph and for the Dec 08 playlist. He usually replies by now but I haven't gotten any replies from him yet :(

OK, could someone help me with a  geometry problem? I need to know the values of x and y that makes AE parallel to BF, and I know a lot of people are good with math so if you could please help, thanks. Here's the drawing, as best as i did

Well, you know that angle A and angle E are congruent (alternate interior angles), so you can set the two equations equal to each other to find x. Then, since angle B is also congruent to angle E (corresponding angles), set the two equations equal to each other, plug in the value you found for x, and you should get y.

At least that's how I *think* you do it. I've pretty much forgotten everything I learned last year, so it may not be correct. lol Hope this helps! :)
That would help explain the confusion... I thought you were trying to find the lengths of the lines, I was like "wtf"... Derek is correct.

4x + 5 = 5x - 13
5 = x - 13
18 = x

thus you now have X, which is 18. Now for the next step
4(18)+5 = 3y - 1
77 = 3y - 1
78 = 3y
26 = y

So in conclusion, X = 18 and Y = 26. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys! But how did you get rid of 4x+5?

OK, I got an email from Patrick Yandall about his song Down Under and he said this is not his song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29BADEARuU4

That sucks, that's a really good song. Anyone know who composes this then?

I figured it was Yandall's. I have all his jazz CDs (he also composed a blues-rock album) Tested every song TWC hasnt used and it didnt check out. TWC and its clerical errors :rolleyes:

I wish they can quit it with the playlist errors. It sounds kinda like a Steve Glotzer song.

LOL a lot of people will have a hard time believin' that :P I can do honors but choose not to because i will get bad grades in such hard courses. I'd rather get Straight As in Advanced and Normal courses rather than Cs and Ds in Honors/AP.
