TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Charter, now our ex-cable provider
« on: January 09, 2021, 04:25:10 PM »
Why do they rip people off?

They are a company, they exist to make profits, as much as some of us (me included) may not like it, they screw us over to make a buck.

I'm not too worried. I'll remain neutral on the rest, though.

35 (Fahrenheit) and partly cloudy. Temps are supposed to peak at 49 today, and drop to 29 overnight.

I gave it a go, not on a Fire Stick, but in my web browser, and its simply beautiful. It ran well enough, got accurate weather data, and looks good. I'll definitely use it more.

I’m not trying to say that forms are now totally obsolete

Not yet anyway.

I've seen several boards die off.  Forums like this one are going the way of the horse and buggy.

It seems as if forums as a whole are dying off, especially with the advent of things like Reddit.

Help and Support / Errors logging in and configuring
« on: November 02, 2019, 12:43:31 AM »
I attempted to configure WxScan local today. I was able to get into the site to make my configuration, but now that its been configured it won't let me in, the application demands a key, even after running preferences.exe (both with and without administrator privileges), and when I click 'Get My Key' it takes me to the CINE login, which displays '%bad passwords', same result when attempting to re-log in via my web browser (both Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.805). This occurs both in wsxl.exe and wsxl_082418.exe. I've also gone and attached a rough overview of my system specs for diagnostic reasons:

Windows 10 Home Edition (x64); v. 1809.
Intel Celeron N3060 @1.60 GHz
2 GB RAM

Is there any fix? Is anyone encountering these issues as well? I'm pretty sure that its server-side. Any help is appreciated.

Have our members simply lost interest, moved on to other things or maybe a combination of both?

Either that or loosing the password. (In all seriousness, 2000s era password managers are hot garbage.)

It is great to still have some people around though. I do agree that these days The Weather Channel has kind of turned to crap and the great days of the channel we all loved are behind us.
I'm afraid that's right. :(
Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of fans of the past have moved on to other things. I still post new content to TWCC almost every week, though!
Yeah I wish more people would come on here, especially ones who used to be on here all the time.  :(

Honestly this place kind of feels like my old Xbox Live account. There's people on there that haven't been online since 2009. Instead here, its just people signing off in 2015-16 and never coming back (or logging in sporadically).

It's great to see that you are still maintaining and adding new content.

I checked that, only about two pages of posts, seems as if the place has started dying off since I signed off a year ago.

I'm just asking out of pure curiosity and laziness.

This is my first attempt in 2 years.

Beta Testing/Issues Discussion / CINE won't let me match a city to a county
« on: December 09, 2017, 10:20:26 AM »
When I try to configure in CINE with the city/county/state matcher I always get a error that says 'try again' even if I type in a valid city name, for example-
Colorado Springs (Colorado Springs, El Paso County, CO)
Princeton (Princeton, Mercer County, NJ)
Denver (Denver, Denver County, CO)
Just the name of the city triggers the error, like 'Denver' just gives me an error.

Comcast is getting real fast now, and I might go for gigabit speeds.
