In a Nice Mood by Ursula Suzana Pacheco on the overnight is "Avalon" from the Nov/Dec 09 playlist. Yet another repeat great..

This is one of the most repeated playlists.   :dunno:  BTW, who does that steel drum song in the morning?

July 2009 over again.

Personally, my pick is "The Gift" by 3rd Force.
Since you mention that song, July 1994 also has made a comeback. :P
And since Reptile by Eric Clapton is back, December 2008 has also made a comeback xD

The Gift also played November 2000. That's when I first heard it.  Reptile also played December 2005. At least TWC is bringing back some nostalgic songs, such as those two, and Shine on You Crazy Diamond.

The Daytime and Overnight are the best by far. The Primetime and Morning lists are pretty uneven. Overall, this playlist is good, but not as good as the March/April list.   :itsok: There are so many reuses. I had a feeling that Rockit would come back on. The Harry Potter theme is the worst song on TWC by far.    I don't get the obsession with John Williams by TWC over the past few months. :dunno:

Miles Davis isn't me. And please, enough with John Williams and his terrible theme music!

Yeah, I don't get why TWC loves John Williams so much.  His songs do not fit on the Local on the 8s. I think the only somewhat appropriate song they had from him was the Home Alone theme, since it was around the holidays.

Yeah, I just heard Shine on You Crazy Diamond. Definite TWC Classic. I had a feeling that Rockit would re-air. Haven't heard Freddie Freeloader since 2000 or 2001. But so far, the primetime has too many repeats from past playlists. It seems there are a heckuva lot of July repeats.

I heard King of the Burgs by Lettuce play twice on the New York Knicks' broadcasts (I'm not a fan BTW).

I heard Satin Soul by the Love Unlimited Orchestra on Music Choice Classic R&B a couple of times.

I have heard Music Choice Watercolors play Spyro Gyra's Morning Dance and Marcus Johnson's My Caddy.

I have heard Soul Finger by the Bar-Kays play on WTMP 1150 AM, and also on in the background for that Black Magic series that aired on ESPN Classic.

I am almost certain that I heard Ven a Gozar by Fishbelly Black play on the Weather Channel sometime between 2002 and 2004.  Can anyone verify this? Here is the link to the song.

I heard Birdland by Weather Report either at Kash n' Karry or Big Lots back in 2001.
I have heard several TWC songs play on the local smooth jazz station here in Tampa, WSJT 94.1 (now 98.7):

Brian Hughes - One 2 One/Here We Go
Joyce Cooling - South of Market/Callie/Expression
Boney James - Nothin' But Love/Stone Groove
Chris Camozzi - Suede/My Dancing Heart
Gota - European Comfort
Spyro Gyra - Morning Dance/Catching the Sun
George Benson - Breezin
Wayman Tisdale - Breakfast with Tiffany/Brazilia
Candy Dulfer - Lily Was Here

Morning:
Best: Jeanne Ricks- All Summer Long
Worst: Jeff Beck- Sleepwalk

Daytime:
Best: Eddie Reasoner- Malibu
Worst- Caleb Quaye- Out of the Blue

Primetime:
Best: Ryan Farish- Supernova
Worst: The Who- Sparks

Overnight
Best: Andre L. Parker- All A Long (Remix)
Worst: Lynn Patrick- When She Dreams

Out of the Blue is far from the worst song!!! I like it. It has a bluesy jazzy feel to it. Malibu is definitely the best song on there. It is typical Eddie Reasoner. I agree, Sparks by the Who doesn't really belong on there. Sleepwalk is a bit too melancholy, but since it the only song like that on the list, I'll give it a pass. Overall, this is the best playlist the Weather Channel has had since April/May 2009.

This is the best and most consistent playlist since April/May 2009.  Primetime is not great, but it is better than all of the prior months. At least there is no more music from those football films, or movie themes. I wish they'd play more smooth jazz in primetime, which is puzzling. I like the daytime and the morning. I am pleasantly surprised to see Jeanne Ricks' Listening Room back.  I remember when it first came on in July 2000.
