I hate rap. It drives me nuts. I alsohate  most hip hop songs. I only like depressing hip hop songs.

Can't stand country, most cheery and uplifting songs, and rock

What's wrong with rap?  :dunno: The rap nowadays, I admit is pretty bad. But rap from the 80s till about 2000 was at its best. The true legends of the rap/hip-hop genre are Tupac, Biggie, Nas, LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Run DMC, Public Enemy, Rakim, KRS-One, Slick Rick, A Tribe Called Quest, etc.

Local Forecast / Re: Channel Weather by Bobby Love

"Bobby Love - Air" also played on Extended Travel Forecast longer than the 1min and 130min.

I fondly remember those Bobby Love tunes, especially Air and Water, during 1998.

Actually, there is two. Chillaxin' is the other one.
That's more of a chill/ambient song to me rather than jazz.
I agree. Sounds more like R&B/Funk in a way. Wish they would play some new jazz song in the primetime slot besides Boney James or reuses from the past.

Yeah, Chillaxin' is more of an R&B-sounding chill song. TWC is completely allergic to playing smooth jazz in the primetime.  Touch is a smooth jazz classic by John Klemmer. Boney James did not do it much justice IMO.  It does not have the soul, the emotion, and sensuality of the orginal. TWC should play the original Touch in primetime or overnight.

Touch is overplayed.  I have heard it half a dozen times tonight alone.
At least there's ONE smooth jazz track in primetime...

Is it just me or does Early Evening by CC Gilmore sound similar to Joe Sample's Born to Be Bad (from Feb 2000 playlist)? They are two great songs, BTW.

General Discussion / Re: Hooray the Lakers win!!!!!
« on: June 18, 2010, 10:34:52 PM »
I'm probably gonna get shot for this, but Laker fans are some of the stupidest people on the planet. "Yah! We won!! Let's break other people's things and get arrested!!" Morons.

I'm not one of those fans on the "stupid category". The ones that were outside tipping cars over, fighting other fans, and shooting people are probably drunk... and I mean SO DRUNK that there were reports of public intoxication on busy streets! To me, this is usual, since I always see this as BREAKING NEWS  every time the Lakers win a championship.

No, Matt. I wont shoot you for that. :P

I am not one of those idiots who goes around smashing stuff when my team wins. I yell, and scream, and jump around, and I just enjoy the celebration. A lot of the people who do that are inebreated or high on something.

The primetime list for June/July, as repeated as it is, is way better than the Apr/May primetime. The rock songs they choose are pretty good. For instance, Oscillate Wildly is a borderline smooth jazz song, with its soft piano and strings. I like Terminal Frost too, especially the sax solo. Layla is the TWC summer anthem. It has aired almost every summer since 2001. CYHMK by the Stones is another summer classic.

The primetime playlist is June and July 2009 all over again. I have gotten used to the fact that primetime sucks. Daytime is always the best daypart, since they actually play smooth jazz. Primetime is completely allergic to smooth jazz, and it is getting annoying.

Listening to the Rolling Stones' Can't You Hear Me Knocking, since it is back on the June/July playlist.

YAY! Moar Ryan Farish music!!!! ^_^

I'll only get to hear "May You Run", since "Anthem Of Hope" and "Arrival Of Spring" are in the morning. Although I always wanted "Anthem Of Hope" to be on the playlist! ^_^

What... is that LAYLA???
* Anistorm explodes.

It isn't summer unless Layla plays. It has played almost every summer on TWC since 2001!!! The primetime playlist actually has good songs, and it is better than last year. But there are far too many repeats. I don't know what is TWC's obsession with John Williams, though. Most of the songs were played from June through September of last year.  Terminal Frost and Oscillate Wildly are probably two of the most TWC-friendly rock songs.

"Going With The Grain" by Ron Fattorusso, from the October 2008 primetime is back. I like it, but again, another song that is out of place.

Nah, it is good fit for daytime.
