It sounds much better to say "when did (insert TV show or network name here) start to suck?" Anyway, for me, it was 2000 with the introduction of Atmospheres. I believe that was the first moment I was watching TWC and thought to myself "you gotta be kidding me." However, it was still pretty good for a few more years. Then they started adding more shows whose weather subject was VERY thin. Thow in some global warming propaganda, some pretty dull music on the LF, don't cover severe weather, and I've all but lost interest.
BTW, IIRC Landmark sold TWC purely b/c it wanted to. It had nothing to do with someone being sick or a lawsuit. So yes, they had a choice. Dave Schwartz said in an interview that he thought it was odd that the sale happened right before the financial collapse. I do too. I think they sold TWC b/c they knew what was coming. Smart move.
Atmospheres started all of the nonstop longform we have during weekday afternoons and especially on weekends. Unless you watch during the morning time before 2pm, you can't get any type of forecast (save for two measley hours at 6 and 11pm, respectively) on Saturday and Sunday!!!

TWC jumped the shark with the rock and soundtrack music, and FAAF. Plus all the doggone longform on weekends!!! 
WUWA isn't the worst thing that TWC has done. To me, it's tolerable.

Here in Tampa, the summer has been pretty brutal. There seems to be a lot more 95+ degree highs this summer compared to last year. Plus the heat indices have gone upwards of 115 or so.

In the last week, I have heard the Thrill is Gone on R&B Classics, and K'Jon's On the Ocean play on WTMP 1150 AM earlier this week. The latter has played on WUWA a few times, and the instrumental version by Rob White was used back in the Nov/Dec/early Jan playlist.

I like most of the songs on this list.What other jazz songs do you see on the primetime list? The only jazz song on it is "Diamond Eyes" by Michael Haggins. All of the repeats are rock. The Beach Street Music songs are a mix of rock/new-age production music, Essence by Ryan Farish is new-age, Yet Unknown, Have a Cigar, NY/Melting Pot and Monoliths are rock songs as well
Exactly. We have kind of gotten used to the primetime being filled with rock, new age, and soundtrack music, with maybe a token smooth jazz song.

True, but it shouldn't end so early on Christmas like it has been at noon or 1, it should keeping going until Christmas night sometime during the primetime list and then transition back over to the regular playlist.
Yes, it is kind of cheap to end the Christmas playlist that early. It should continue all of Christmas Day, and into the overnight. Then, the next morning, it can transition back. But I don't mind seeing it start the same time it has been starting, which is the middle of December.
