Nice job on the Weatherscan IntelliStar v1. It looks so real! I too have also always preferred the original v1 Weatherscan IntelliStar screen layout since it was less cluttered. I've also been dreaming for a Weatherscan IntelliStar v1 emulator/simulator for years since our local cable system never carried Weatherscan in my area and also ever since when I saw Intelliguy's Weatherscan videos from Philadelphia a few years ago on YouTube. Keep up the good work!

Whoa, never thought I'd see you pop up here again. I've always favored this style since I saw the same videos a few years back. Luckily, with new HQ footage (very slowly) creeping in, I was able to recreate the graphics with certainty. Thanks for your feedback!

...and the extended forecast. Made when I was reminded of Jaden wanting something like this but for the Weatherscan Intellistar V2. Data accurate as of the timestamp.

I made the weather bulletin in the style of the Weatherscan Intellistar V1, mainly because I was bored but also because I wanted to see what it would look like for my area.

The gradient's weird, but I don't know how TWC made theirs to stand out so well, so at least I can say I tried.

I honestly doubt anyone even visits this site anymore, but here goes...

I was planning on forking & fixing up the Weatherscan HTML5 emulator, as well as editing the appearance to look more like the V1 Intellistar version instead of the V2 Intellistar version (I never really liked the LDL features everywhere-- I felt they crowded up the screen too much). However, I never really got to it (blame my procrastination & checking social media every 5 minutes for that).

These are mockups for said planned fixup. They are presented in the original 720x480 resolution used for the Intellistar. Some elements may appear stretched.

I handed the recordings to a friend, who will be uploading them onto his media channel instead of mine in fear of getting claimed by the Youtube Content ID system. Here's just a few, recorded in Wamego, KS!

I recently found a DVD-R I forgot I recorded in approx. April - May of 2013 that was chock full of these WeatherStar 4000 recordings. These aren't from the tape transfers I had made of my wx4000 tapes, either (I'll get to those sometime later). The city listed on the wx4000 forecasts was Manhattan, yet I also lived in Wamego during this time. I would later move to St. George and switch to the cable company that (I assume) was the originator of the operation of the wx4000 for a few more months before moving to Topeka. This cable company would soon be going out of business and its market share dominated by Cox Communications because of an FCC complaint regarding their nonexistent setup of their Emergency Alert Systems.

Now that we have the backstory out of the way, should I be worried about Content ID and worldwide blockage of my videos? Some of the songs contained are fairly famous and are owned by big music companies.

Edit: Also, sorry if this topic doesn't really belong here. I haven't been here in a long while!

Last time I uploaded a few of these Local Weather Now segments, I didn't think I'd get caught like TWCJim did. Sure enough, my videos got blocked worldwide by WeatherNation themselves. This happened approx. 2 years ago.

Are they still hunting down people for uploading those Local Weather Now segments? TWC doesn't really do Local on the 8s unless it's something like WeatherCenter, and even then, it's not guaranteed it'll always happen.

General Discussion / Muzak on TWC?
« on: May 13, 2016, 11:25:09 PM »
I've been wondering if TWC will ever use Muzak music on their channel, or at least Mood Media music.
What do you think about Muzak?

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Is cable TV going downhill?
« on: May 09, 2016, 01:25:41 AM »
Yes, cable TV is going downhill, in 2013 Comcast removed Weatherscan from all packages in the city  and got the IS2XD on day of launch . Also, sooner or later KRDO will be pulled off the air due to contract issues in my area, and I might loose our iGuide box to the Xfinity X1 boxes that Comcast is forcing down our throats.
Monopolies truly do suck. :(

...never upload WeatherNation local forecasts to the Web. EVER.

Sorry it has happened to you, man.  :( I've been in those shoes. Happened to my YouTube account last Summer. Initially, I didn't think WeatherNation would care if I uploaded an LF or two of theirs, but once their iron fists of copyright protection banged a crater on the fragile wall, it proved me wrong and earned me my very first copyright strike. The strike has since expired after six months.

Thanks. Another person named Houstontvnews hasn't gotten his video down yet, yet MINE keeps getting taken down! Here's his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM_uwS4Zvvg

All I did was upload harmless LFs and they whack me with a strike.

I have tons of these recorded on my USB stick, but I guess it's time to trash them :(

Local Forecast / Re: Smooth Jazz Return!

I wish I had cable to experience this again.
I'd rather listen to Trammell Starks' Music for Local Forecast CDs for 3 years than listen to their production music...

Suicide is never-- and will never-- be a good way to kick the bucket.

If anyone here is having any of these thoughts, please go to this website:

My sincere apologies to Nick's family, friends, and co-workers. May his soul rest in God's hands now.

I'd rather have WeatherNation for free OTA then watch this unprofessional half-ass final product :hmm:

Those graphics look kinda boring and lackluster in my opinion. This concept would have been much better:

Sorry about that but THIS would've at LEAST been nice! It really fits the "Weather All The Time" thing they're getting into. Why not use that?!?!?!? It's just like what toxictwister said, they make astounding prototypes but then they take 10 steps back!!!
