This is my concept of the L-bar for XL viewers, complete with the radar, CC, and a space for ad crawls, similar to the IS L-bar. TWC will probably never make this a reality, as they probably don't give a hoot about the cable headends that still use XLs, or the other legacy STAR units for that matter

Happy first day of summer to all 
Unfortunately for me, it won't feel like summer where I am in the days to come 
There's a slight chance of showers on and off for the next 10 days based on the forecast that I'm reading, and temps will remain in the 60s. Heat waves are rare in this part of Oregon and Washington. We did have one last August, but that one lasted for only a day or two

Here's something that I took yesterday. Just some distant rainstorm clouds off the coast of Oregon. This photo was taken from a scenic viewpoint right off Highway 101 somewhere between the towns of Manzanita and Cannon Beach.

If TWC is airing vocal music again, wouldn't they have to acquire new licenses to air the songs again by paying the license holders again?

I was quite shocked myself when I read about the tornado down in McMinnville (near Portland) but based on many Doppler radar sources that I've looked at, the system that produced the EF1 tornado was just a brief but heavy rain shower and not much else. No lightning, no reports of thunder, just rain
Oregon is no stranger to tornadoes. Back in 1972, Portland and Vancouver got hit by an F-3 tornado, and in late 2010, a weak EF-2 tornado hit Aumsville. In the summertime, the northwest gets a few severe thunderstorms here and there, but tornadoes are quite a rare sight to see in this part of the US. As for myself, I've never seen one tornado in my lifetime, and I probably will never get to

Yeah I saw that. Reminds me of that commercial a while back of someone watching the LoT8s and Allen Jackson talking to her. Does anyone know if that video is still online somewhere?

Okay, I lied STAR #23550 doesn't really have ad crawls. I actually Photoshopped the ad crawl from a photo of another STAR that has them. Looks real though, doesn't it?

There's one thing I dislike about summer, mosquitoes! Those little buggers are annoying and constantly bite me, and I've already been bitten twice 
The problem is that I live near a wooded area, plus the weather is constantly rainy where I live which leaves standing water everywhere for the bugs to breed. To make a long story short, I'm really not looking forward to mosquito season at all
