I have tomorrow off, but I have to work on Friday. Also, the weather here has been mainly dry, and areas to my east have been very hot this week. We northwesterners could use some of the rain that you folks in Virginia have been experiencing lately, but try not to give us too much of it  :P

...and here's what he told Vala about previous versions of Stars (XL,3000,4000)

We are very sorry about this. Unfortunately, your cable company has one of our older Local on the 8's computers. That model is having difficulty getting updates. We are trying some things to make it better but there isn't much we can do to these old models. We will continue to try to find fixes.

The good news is that a newer Local on the 8's model is replacing all the older ones in 2013. I don't have a date but the new one will be coming in a number of months and the new one will be much, much better than the local you are currently seeing.

Wow, so they're going to replace all of the legacy STAR units with a brand new generation of STARs for the non-IntelliSTAR-using cable headends?  :o

Glad to hear this situation is improving  :)  Hopefully the warning screens will disappear from Chrome soon.

This whole thing kinda makes you wonder, why would an individual or a party infect websites with malware and other viruses? They should have better things to do than hacking  :fear:  :nono:

Has anyone seen "High Rip Current Risk" on the Bulletin Screen before?

Never seen that weather bulletin before. Was there narration?

Chrome has given me the malware screen yet again for this site, but I went around the screen by "proceeding at my own risk". There must be a site bug that's making Chrome misidentify this forum as a "potentially dangerous site"  :hmm:

I came across Chrome's "Malware Detected" screen only once when I tried accessing the forum earlier today. No problems afterward.

71º Partly Cloudy

While places to my east will have a 90-100º heat wave, the temperatures here along the coastline will remain much cooler, in the low to mid 70s. A marine layer is sitting on top of us which prevents the surface temps from getting hotter. This will sure make the people who live inland jealous!  :P
