Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion

Looks like the WeatherSTAR 4000 up in Omak, WA is no more.    I went to my grandmother's house earlier today in Grand Coulee and brought along my tuner, but I still saw national forecasts when I looked on channel 12 via the local Charter cable headend.

The last time I looked was back in August, and like today I did not see the 4000 back then, so it appears that the unit was not in an outage stage and is definitely gone for sure based on my discovery.

I wouldn't be surprised if TWC adds more live programming to their schedule should the DirecTV dispute be resolved. Somehow I doubt this will happen, as TWC will probably forget about this and then soon go back to the current schedule that includes the so-called "hit" reality crap shows which absolutely have nothing to do with weather.

Those of you who live in the eastern half of the US, please keep warm in all ways possible. I saw on CNN that because of this historic Arctic air, a PDS warning has been issued.    It's very rare to have PDS warnings being issued for something other than tornadoes.

Updated station ID pic for winter:



I updated the image to match the current TWC graphics shown during commercial breaks on live programming. Even though the Dish STAR never displayed the channel number, I did it anyway here to show how cable headends would display it if TWC would ever bring back the station ID segment (which they probably won't anyway ).

The background image was taken by myself at Lake Coeur d'Alene (located about 30 miles to the east of Spokane) a few years ago.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / STAR #27119 Error

Hi STAR team

The Dish Network STAR (27119) is still cuing the old reflecting TWC logo over the new graphics, which includes the both the live and long-form LDL as well as the SLF. I was able to catch the following screenshots of the glitch:





Can this glitch be looked into somewhat?
