Man, it's been one heck of a morning for my computer this morning!    When I started up my laptop, it had this virus called "YTAdRemoval" which runs very annoying ads on the websites I visit, including this one. The virus has an extension on Chrome that cannot be removed at all, so I searched my computer to see if any suspicious programs were installed recently but I didn't find any. Then I did a System Restore to a point two days ago, and it did the trick. No more YTAdRemoval! 

Jim, you must have downloaded and installed something from the internet that came hidden with it.  This little article may explain ideas on how you got it along with how to remove it if you unfortunately get it again, and this issue is technically not a virus but rather malware:

I haven't downloaded and installed anything recently so I'm not sure how the malware got onto my computer in the first place.    But I guess it doesn't matter anymore now that YTAdRemoval is gone from my computer.

Here's something I put together in like five minutes.  It would display only at :29 and :59, immediately after the local forecast. 

I like it. Well done! 

IMO the local weather ID should appear first thing when the programming LDL cues after every LF and then reappear after the 3-4 city loop.    Hopefully somebody out there can suggest this to TWC...

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Charter Communications Discussion

As of today, many Charter headends, including the one that serves me, have went entirely digital. Therefore, every TV must have its own cable box in order to get cable on it. In addition to the upgrade, several channels have been moved around, and TWC HD has been added. My SD TWC channel remained the same.

My Charter headend hasn't migrated to all-digital nor changed its channel lineup.    In other words, even without a cable box, I can still receive channels 2-62 plus a few Clear QAM channels with just a coax cable.

I wouldn't mind having the Local Weather ID appear at some point on the LDL.    I do agree that the ID should appear for technical reasons because it's very useful for TWC's tech support if a viewer needs to report errors with their LOT8s.

Definitely. I miss the backgrounds with the landscapes that represent a particular season. Plus the STAR ID numbers are very useful for my STAR database website.
