It seems TWC doesn't care about LFs and the legacy STARs these days

Spokane, WA IntelliStar Blowing Dust Report 9/25/2011 1:28PM PDT

Aside from talking about the retarded L-bar, here's a little treat for everyone. I caught this rare report on my IStar  :)

Saw a satellite LF at 8:59AM PT after my TWC feed froze on the station ID segment before showing a green screen then eventually rebooting. Did anyone else see this?

So all live TWC programs but Wake Up With Al use the L-bar that is presumably gonna replace the 90-second flavors permanently? Why use the L-bar at all if you're not going to use it one program?   <_<

It's an actual XL using custom graphics...

Oh I see now. Thanks Zach

That's Chazz's emulator. ;)

Ah OK then. I wonder how they were able to get the emulator to run simultaneously with the LF while streaming the TWC feed live on JTV

I was watching a live TWC stream from PA on my sis' TV via Justin.tv on her Roku box, and I saw what looked like a graphics-updated WeatherStar XL. Can anyone tell me if this is real or if this is an emulator?

Pic provided from the actual video streaming site itself.

Did I just see the TWC logo from the national programming LDL appear by itself (accompanied by a TS Lee box) or am I going crazy?

General Discussion / Re: Recording in HD -- Any advice?

Bad news... just got an email from my sis and she said she and her husband no longer get TWC. Not sure if its either a package with TWC or Dish entirely, but either way, she said it was too expensive. Last time I was at her house (it was a couple of months ago, but I didn't have my Roxio device with me at the time) she did have Dish, but it looks like not anymore, so don't expect an HD clip from me anytime soon

However, on the plus side, I'm still going over there anyway to hang out with my two nephews and niece, all of which are pretty young, so that'll be fun for me

Zach: I don't have neither of the equipment you mentioned. I plan to just use a composite and/or an S-video connector to record from the HD receiver. My question is: since that I can only record in a 4:3 format, does this mean that the 16:9 picture will become letterboxed?
