Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: June 25, 2012, 11:57:26 AM »
There was another new Station ID I saw on TWCHD this morning of a beach and a small boat sitting idle out in the water with cumulonimbus clouds overhead a blue sky.

I saw that yesterday.

Speaking of the station ID segment, is anyone else besides me seeing that the cable company logo/channel number as well as the radio station ID cards aren't showing at all during the recent ID segments with the new backgrounds?

The problem with just going with TWC is it's also short for Time Warner Cable.

Or better yet Time Warner Cable needs to change their name to avoid confusion with The Weather Channel. Time Warner Cable stole those initials from The Weather Channel IMO  :bleh:

General Discussion / Re: Commercials You Love

There was a commercial back in '01 for Uncle Ben's Mini Bowls, where two people are tied up in a cauldron by some tribesmen, who demanded dinner. Then the tribesmen spot a microwave with the bowls, and then they eat the food in the bowls. That commercial made me laugh also  :rofl2:

As expected, TWC is preempting regularly scheduled programming because of newly-formed TS Debby.

I watched this video on TV earlier. I feel so sorry for that lady  :(  Why must kids like that be so cruel and mean? I hope they go to a boot camp or some kind of hardcore detention facility  :hammer:

As some of you or may not know, debris from the Japan tsunami is starting to wash up all around the Pacific coastline. Here is a photo I took of a pile of debris that I found while walking from my new house to the beach. I'm guessing someone else found this debris on the beach and then moved it up inland and made this pile next to intersecting trails. Pretty interesting stuff here IMO...
on a related note, do u guys have to purchase tsunami insurance? Seems like your area is more Tsunami prone than elsewhere in the Continental US due to it's proximity to the Cascadia Subduction Zone, not to mention Alaska and waves coming from Chile or Japan

Not exactly. Even though our area is tsunami-prone like you mentioned, the chances of a big tsunami hitting this area is very slim at this point IMO.

"Rainy Days" by Trammell Starks, via one of the CDs I purchased from him a few months ago.

I'll be saying goodbye to the Weatherscan unit here in Spokane pretty soon, as I am moving to the coast of southern Washington. The Charter headend in nearby Astoria, OR does not have a Weatherscan unit, which means I won't be able to listen to the 6 Trammell songs that currently play on the channel anymore. Very sad for me  :cry3:
