Anyone ever tried that interactive transcript from YT out of curiosity? I tested it on a random video of mine and it's pretty godawfully terrible. It doesn't read words in the videos all that accurately. I would say about 50% right on and 50% WTH did it get these wacky words from? :P The two examples below were the worst ones imp.

0:29 our local coupler radar

It also read Forsyth (A county in GA) as "For site"

I did try that once with the CC button imp. IMO the interactive transcript has the same words as the CC button imp. I remember that the CC read "our seven day outlook" as "our seventh day outlook" at some point imp

Went to Longview, WA this afternoon and bought the following:

  • A portable NOAA Weather/AM/FM Radio for $19.88 at WalMart
  • A new Canon MX870 printer/scanner for $29 at WalMart
  • Vizio 19" HD TV at WalMart (forgot the cost)
  • Popcorn and soda combo for $2.49 at the Target food court -- my favorite food and drink to get there  :)
  • Three Stooges DVD for $19.99 at Target
  • A bacon cheeseburger meal at Burgerville (forgot the cost)

Can't scan because my printer/scanner does appear to be working anymore

I have a Canon MX870 printer and scanner, and I get this error message on the LED screen "Error 5012: Turn off power and try again. If problem still persists, check your manual for instructions." I turned it off again and again, nothing. Plus I had long lost my printer's manual. Then I tried looking online for answers and it turns out that I need to replace the flatbed motor on the scanner, which is costly. Does anyone here have a better solution to error #5012 instead of buying an expensive motor for my dead scanner?

New printer

Just what I did. Went to a WalMart eighty miles away from my house and bought a new Canon printer. I'm installing it as we speak

IIRC, didn't he get sued for sexually harassing someone at TWC a few years back?

yep.

I thought so. Thanks for the clarification

Speaking of autographed photographs of TWC meteorologists, either former or current, I do have a photo of Jim Cantore I got from him a years ago, signed by the Can-man himself. I can scan and post the photo here if anyone wishes to see it.

Oh heck yes! I sent in one of those TWC autograph request forms about a year ago and never got one... I guess they did away with that!

I did not have a dream early this morning where I felt an earthquake from my living room and then woke up and wondered if this quake was real, only to find out later in the morning that it was only a dream and not a real earthquake    :hmm:

Here's another Simpsons scene I found funny, from the episode "The Fat and the Furriest.". Homer is watching a VeggieTales-like show on a store-display TV where a cucumber Moses says "Let my pickles go!" Then Homer says, "Mmmm, Moses..." and then drools and slobbers. That scene just kills me  :rofl2:

You get both Seattle and Portland channels?

You bet I do. After all, I live just about halfway between those cities  ;)

Here's the TV I watch, with my TV lineup I have as part of my subscription to Charter:

2: KATU (ABC affiliate in Portland)- Local news, Jeopardy!
3: KRCW (CW affiliate in Portland)- Family Guy, Two and a Half Men, 10PM local news (provided by KGW, Portland's NBC affiliate)
4: KOMO (ABC affiliate in Seattle)- Local news, Jeopardy!
5: KING (NBC affiliate in Seattle)- Local news
7: KIRO (CBS affiliate in Seattle)- Local news, Two and a Half Men (only if it's a new episode)
9: QVC- Nothing
10: KOPB (PBS affiliate in Portland)- Nothing (I hate PBS so much!)
11: HSN- Nothing
12: KPTV (FOX affiliate in Portland)- Local news, Family Guy (only if it's a new episode)
13: KCPQ (FOX affiliate in Portland)- Local news, Two and a Half Men, Family Guy (only if it's a new episode, but I prefer the Portland FOX because unlike this one, that FOX is broadcast in widescreen)
14: Leased access channel- Nothing
15: C-SPAN- Nothing
16: KPXG (Ion TV affiliate in Portland)- Nothing
17: Telemundo- Nothing
19: The Weather Channel- Any show that isn't long-form
20: TBS- Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, Family Guy
21: Leased access channel- Nothing
22: KZJO (MyNetworkTV affiliate in Seattle)- The Simpsons, Family Guy, Local news (provided by KCPQ, Seattle's FOX affiliate)
23: Style- Nothing
60: MSNBC- Nothing
61: CNBC- Nothing
62: TruTV- Nothing
86: Charter's "heart monitor" channel- Only when I am bored or when there's nothing to watch on TV

My prayers and thoughts go out to those affected by this tragedy in Colorado.
Yeah, mine too. :hmm:

Me too. That is just so sad  :(

Don't some people like this idiot have better things to do then to go and shoot innocent people?

Didn't see a topic similar to this one, so I thought I'd start it off.

What is your favorite scene and/or quote from any current or former TV show, whether it's live-action or animated?

One of my favorites is from the Simpsons "Treehouse of Horror V" episode, where Homer has this toaster which is a time machine, and in one scene, he is in a world where he and his family are wealthy. He asks Marge to pass him a donut, then Marge responds "Donut? What's a donut?" Homer then screams in horror, then runs back to the basement and goes back into time again. As soon as he left, it started to rain donuts in the world which he left. That scene was a classic to me

An old friend of me and my girlfriend's is flying in from Phoenix at the end of this month and we're both driving up to SeaTac International to pick him up imp. Before we do that, we're going to an exhibition of the rock band AC/DC at Seattle's EMP museum, which happens to be right next to the Space Needle imp

Where do you work that has a boss like that imp?

From my home, I work for a department of a global financial services company whose name I do not wish to say imp. I've been working there since after I turned 21 in 2008 imp. Today was the day I get another bonus, and my boss wanted me to work today even though I had a really nasty sore throat earlier today imp. My job sucks, but it certainly helps pay the bills and the groceries imp
