At :48, I saw that my STAR displayed the tides screen in place of the marine forecast screen

Is the tides product supposed to be seen during 60-second flavors for coastal STARs?

The chime's on the siren are what the bell's at my school sound like.

Yep, the Westminster Chimes are commonly heard nowadays. My high school back in Spokane also had them on their bell system. My parents have a clock in their living room that also play the chimes.

Those loud chimes really startled me when I was trying to cover my ears from the loud noise while filming the siren pole. After the verbal message that played after the chimes, there was this guy who worked at a nearby motel, and he said to a child (whom I'm guessing was staying there) and then soon afterward to myself "That'll wake you up, won't it?"   I think you can hear him say that to the child (just barely) near the very end of this video clip.

Monthly Tsunami Siren Test- Seaview, WA- August 6, 2012

Here it is, folks. My video footage of the monthly tsunami siren test in Seaview.

Standing a little too close to the siren pole, the Westminster Chimes scared the crap out of me when they went off. You can see here that I accidentally shook my camera because of that   :whistling2:   :P

Are you happy when it rains?

The Long Beach Peninsula has a monthly testing of their tsunami siren system, which occurs on the first Monday of every month at noon, my time. The Westminster Chimes are played for about 10 seconds followed by a 15-second verbal statement saying that it was only a test. Sometime once every year, the actual warning tone is played for about three minutes, and this occurs if an actual emergency was happening.

Today at noon, my time, I will attempt to record a video of the monthly test using my camera at one of the peninsula's siren poles located in Seaview, WA (the closest one I live near, which is about a mile from my house in LB.) If I successfully get a video, I'll post it here. Wish me luck   :)

As a kid, I also enjoyed the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons, like this one:

One of my favorite Daffy Duck cartoons, this one made me laugh a lot when I was little

Was watching a NASA Watch Party forecast for Times Square on TWC at around 8:55AM PT and the forecast for one time (the time escapes me at the moment) tonight said 66º with rain and snow!  :rofl2:

Did anyone else catch that?

Astoria did not set a record high of 92º today, breaking the old record of 88º which was set back 80 years ago

No, but my former county (Spokane County) had been under a tornado warning once in 2004

Do you like crowded places?

Unfortunately, the shows are here to stay and they will never go away, and we the viewers cannot do anything about it   IMO it's best to either stick with it or stop watching TWC altogether. Simply complaining about how lame these shows or anything like that won't change anything. TWC is just trying to attract more viewers (and perhaps maybe a younger generation of viewers) and trying to earn more money, despite the fact they probably have millions of it already. Let's just do what's best for TWC and learn to live with it, whether we like or not.
