General Discussion / Re: The Pot Belly Stove

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/usb000df7n#summary

There was a 7.7 magnitude earthquake near Masset, Canada  :o  which might have the potential to produce a tsunami. I need to keep a close watch of the activity going on up there  :fear:

EDIT #1: According to this link the threat of a tsunami appears to be minimal at this point, so it looks like the Washington coast is in the clear so far  :)

EDIT #2: This is a tsunami bulletin message, copied from a Facebook post:

I wish TWC still used the old Storm Alert music for approaching hurricanes such as Sandy  :(  I wonder why they stopped using it.

This instrumental sounds catchy, but sadly, I don't know what the name of the song is nor do I know the name of the artist  :dunno:

OT: Sorry for double-posting.

I'm assuming TWC will start 24/7 live coverage on Sandy sometime in the near future  :hmm:

1205
Not that it really matters, but which reality shows are being cancelled? We all know that Iron Men is one of them, but is there is a list of shows that are also going as well?  :dunno:

Love the Halloween banner     Thanks to whomever designed it  :)
That would be our very own Andy, witness of weather. :P Even though it was designed 2 years ago, it's still very cool to look at
I didn't even realize this banner was used before :P but it's always great to see the banner decorated for an upcoming holiday and/or special day.

Thanks for the banner design Andy  ;)

With Halloween less than two weeks away, I'm curious how much any of you got involved in this holiday during your childhoods.  Also, what was your favorite candy or treat to eat?

I was just the average trick-or-treating child back in the day, dressing up in costumes and hoping I'd get some good candy. I liked all candies but my personal favorite are Snickers bars, which they still are today now that I'm in my mid-20s  :P

Annual AHAB Tsunami Siren Test- October 18, 2012

Okay, so here is my video footage of the annual tsunami siren drill, which is different than the monthly routine test.

For some reason, this siren did not go off during the test   but I did hear other siren wails echoing in the distance. Luckily, a friend of mine was also filming the test at another siren pole in the Long Beach area. Later on I grabbed the audio portion from his video and then merged the audio with my video.

Enjoy the video clip
