Haven't posted this here yet, but I caught this glitch on my new IS2 Jr yesterday:

Gotta admit, that plain white background is fancy, even though the product slider on the bottom is impossible to read.

I notice no 7 day in that LF? Is that a typical flavor now?

I presume it was probably a glitch on my end, since this IS2 Jr was installed just today. The glitch has since been fixed.

Man, my Charter headend must be slow: they still have not gotten their new IS2 equipment up and going yet. It's now been five days since the Astoria IS1 kicked the bucket, and based on the audio, #23550 may be still plugged in but powered off. According to an email response I've received from the STAR Team earlier this week, The Weather Channel is working with Charter and are waiting for them to get the new server up and running in the Astoria area. Until then, I'm stuck with the SD satellite feed as well as HD.

Astoria's IS1 (#23550) was still alive and well until this morning when it officially went out of service. I'm kinda surprised it lived this long  although it should have been replaced some time ago. But for now, Charter is stuck with the satellite SD feed until they get their IS2 XD or Jr up and running at some point later.

Earlier today I asked TWC's Tech Support about Astoria's still-in-use IntelliSTAR 1, and this was the response that I received from Tony:

Jim - According to our records, Charter Astoria has already switched over to the I2 star back on 10/12 for the SD service.  The look of the local would not change much, the difference is very slight.

So, it appears that Astoria does already have an IS2, but for some strange reason, I'm still seeing the IS1 feed where I am, across the river in Pacific County.  I'm guessing maybe Charter hasn't switched to the IS2 feed up here yet, but they have already for the viewers down in Astoria and neighboring Seaside.

Hmmm, it's kinda strange how The Weather Channel would just discontinue all of the Amy Bargeron Vocal Local, but add a new Jim Cantore narration only to the Weather Bulletin product.    I wonder if TWC will add more of Cantore's narrations to Weatherscan later. Who knows?
