I've seen those old realistic weather icons every now and then post-November 2013 on certain on-air graphics. It does make perfect sense as to why TWC uses those pre-2013 icons rather than the Kindergartner-drawn icons they have now on the IntelliSTAR 2.

My TV Guide has Weather Underground scheduled for 7-9PM PT (10PM-12AM ET) on Leap Day, however it says So You Think You'd Survive? from 5-7PM PT. I imagine that time slot is going to be updated later for Champion's new show.

Not seeing that AQ forecast product on my Jr. I guess maybe this is exclusive to the STARs in more populous areas (that have ozone) similar to the traffic product.

Alex formed as of today, just four and a half months before the official start of the season. It is the first Atlantic basin hurricane to form in the month of January since 1938.

Interesting fact: some very few small cable headends still use TV Guide equipment on what is now the Pop network. Here is a tuner video screenshot of the network from Charter channel 16 in Grand Coulee, WA, taken yesterday:
This headend has an analog-only lineup that only goes up to channel 99, with no digital Clear QAM or HD channels whatsoever. There aren't even digital set-top boxes with interactive TV guides, at lease not anymore because Charter discontinued the >100 channel lineup in Grand Coulee back in '08. I guess it makes sense as to why Charter still has TV Guide equipment, but still, it's kinda interesting how this is probably one of the very few headends left that still use the equipment even long after Pop rebranded from TVGN.

Here in Grand Coulee, WA, it is currently 14º with a wind chill of 7º. It's gonna get colder tonight, with a low of about 6º. 
There is also an Air Stagnation Advisory in effect until Monday morning so the air quality is deteriorating slightly, but at least I don't have any known respiratory issues.

My Seahawks are off to the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season! 
After defeating the Cleveland Browns yesterday, Seattle clinched a berth in the Wild Card playoffs. Their record now stands at 9 and 5. Despite season-ending injuries to some key players (e.g. RB Marshawn Lynch, rookie RB Thomas Rawls and TE Jimmy Graham) the team still managed to pull through what seemed to be a tough season for them. Let's go Hawks!
