Programming and Graphics / Re: New Graphics coming to TWC
« on: November 12, 2013, 04:02:31 AM »
What a letdown. HD feed is letterboxed on SD, and being that we don't have the IntelliStar 2, we see the national feed. Many viewers will be unhappy if they don't have the IS2.

Jen Carfagno just posted this on Facebook regarding Weekend View:

Quote
Just finished the last ever "Weekend View" show on The Weather Channel. I will be here next weekend anchoring with Alex Wallace...in a new studio with a new show name!

Another update from Jen. Apparently, Weather Center Live is replacing Weekend View:

Change is good and exciting ... But still, hard to change your name ...  Next weekend, mornings will be known as Weather Center Live.

Emulator Videos / Re: Trevor's Emulations

Here's a short preview of what I have been working on for the last few days. I hope to make this into a full emulator, but it will take some time. I also put in the new "Weather All the Time" icons, just to see how they fit. I think they look pretty good.

(Well...NOT so Happy Halloween if you live in Memphis or anywhere across the Arklatex region... :itsok:)

Tell me about it! Try walking outside to get to the add-on school wing for 2 of my classes while it's raining moderately with wind gusting 30 MPH right in your face. Not fun. Actually I was outside walking to the add-on wing during the time that this emulation was for...around 10 AM.

Great emulation BTW!

I was going to get Breakfast at Igor's but I decided to go to the Deux Cafe instead. There, I saw Jessica who told me about her dog named Layla. She then got into my car and we went through the Viaduct when she told me that she had a Latin Lover. Then I went back to my house in the Santa Monica Triangle which is just South of the Market. When I walked in, I said, "Wait a Minute!" because the water was Rushing out of the sink because the faucet was Sidewayz.

It was intentional. They first issued a statement identical to the one with the message, a few words were changed to make the message appear.

General Weather Chat / Re: Meteorology books

ANYTHING from Tim Vasquez. He's a storm chaser and meteorologist that has books on just about anything you want to know. I have a few of his books. They are relatively inexpensive as well.

Here's the link. The books are all listed near the top of the page: http://www.weathergraphics.com/

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: September 08, 2013, 04:51:14 PM »
I think TWC should do so. I had no idea about such event until I found out about the orange logo. I'm sure it will raise awareness a little more if TWC did so, as well as other networks.

You've never seen the twice-a-year green logo for Green is Universal week?
