WeatherSTAR Tech Support / 24745 Requests

Request #1
Our local Weatherscan serves Western Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, and Eastern Arkansas. Being that most units only serve parts of one state, this is not an issue for them. The ticker on the bottom of the screen displays the cities as listed here:

Bartlett; Collierville; Germantown; Horn Lake, MS; Memphis; Millington; Olive Branch, MS; Southaven, MS; West Memphis, AR

All of the TN cities are listed without a state abbreviation, while the MS and AR cities are listed with one. Is there a reason for this? Everyone in the area pretty much knows that Horn Lake, Olive Branch, and Southaven are in MS and that West Memphis is in AR. Could the state abbreviations be removed?

Request #2
On the squeezeback, 2 out of the 3 cities on the radar are on the edge of the screen. Is it possible to remove Trumann and Lula and replace them with Bartlett, Hernando, Forrest City, and/or Wynne? They are more populated areas. See the image below.

Thanks in advance! :D

Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: July 09, 2011, 01:59:49 PM »
On the :48 LF, the IS read the Weather Bulletin screen as 'The NWS has issued a weather bulletin'.

On the :58 LF, the IS read it as 'A Heat Advisory and an Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for our area'.

What is the difference, and why is it alternating?

Did anyone catch Stephanie drop and BREAK her clicker? Notice it shatter on impact!

TWC - YWT Blooper - Stephanie Drops Clicker

1st Time I've seen one shatter. It was probably just the plastic enclosure or the batteries falling out. NICE CATCH!

You're most likely right. Looks like the battery cover flew off. YT put the audio and video out of sync. Thanks!

Did anyone have any IS cueing issues as of 11:18 AM ET? I noticed that it's 11:20 AM ET and commercials are still running on DirecTV.

Local Forecast / Re: Satellite LF Sightings
« on: July 07, 2011, 08:38:47 PM »
Here's a video back from June 22 showing the satellite forecast at 4:28PM,  a little bit of the national LDL during regular programming, then the return of the regular local forecast at 4:38PM.

(I missed the start of the 4:28 forecast so it actually comes in closer to 4:28)

That's not the HD Satellite Forecast. TWC upgraded the SD Satellite Forecast to look very similar to the HD NF. The only error here is that your IntelliStar failed to cue.

General Discussion / Re: Kevin Martin vs. NOAA/NWS
« on: July 07, 2011, 09:25:28 AM »
Anybody ever watched "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction"? Here's a segment from an episode in the 2002 season about a SoCal weatherman who lets loose with his own predictions after slumping ratings. Although this story is (Spoiler Alert!!) Fictional, if Kevin Martin's forecasting methods keep up, it might slowly turn into Fact.

BBFF - The Weatherman

I wouldn't be surprised.

I do have a suggestion. Is there anyway the cities can be spread out more evenly? Meaning each city gets an equal amount of time to display its local information. Because as you can see by the images I have attached, basically every other segment is for Phoenix.

So, does it just circle through cities in AZ? Are there any products or just cities?
