Corrected the title. When I saw 65 MPH, it really shocked me.

I'm calling it a 25% chance at becoming a hurricane. As Tavores said, definitely not out of the question.

**Post was removed, so I'm removing the quote**

Not sure if you are aware, but there are kids, some as young as 10, on this forum. What you said was not only highly inappropriate, but rude. It disgusts me when something like this occurs.

General Discussion / Where in the world have you been?

Recently, there has been a lot of talk in The Front Porch about where you have traveled to, so I decided that a new thread would be fitting. Use this link to create your own map.

Here's mine:

I'll soon be traveling through Virginia to get to Washington, DC for a school trip this October.

Ah, LOL. I was a bit confused.

The colors on the Air Quality screen have always been as follows (from bottom to top). The words in parentheses are the words that show on the color itself.

Green (Good)
Yellow (Moderate)
Orange (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups)
Red (Unhealthy), I've seen this once or twice on my STAR in person but never online, fairly rare
Maroon (Very Unhealthy), Never seen this one in person or online...VERY rare

In my opinion, Maroon shouldn't exist...I don't even think it's ever shown on a STAR. If Maroon were to show, I would think there would be a Weather Bulletin for an Air Quality Alert.

Hope that I answered some of your questions. Again, anyone feel free to chime in or correct me on the above. :)

My HD feed is about 2 seconds behind the SD feed. It's because of the larger size, just as Donovan explained. It just takes a little bit longer to get to the cable box.

Whoa, now that you mention it...I just noticed that I lost about 20 subscribers on my firealarm211 account. I think YT deleted all of the inactive subscribers off of the YT channels.

Nonononono....sorry if you took that the wrong way. I was just showing you in case you hadn't seen. I wasn't trying to be rude at all.

There's a 20% chance of tropical development on that low pressure just off the coast from the Carolinas. I don't think it will develop.

General Discussion / Crazy Person at Local Radio Station

LIVE RECORDED AUDIO: http://snd.sc/JHemNe

I listened to most of this unfold live on the radio this morning on my way to school

In case you don't fee like listening to the full thing, here's a rundown of what happened on The Q this morning as I was listening live.

DJs CJ and Alexis Grace (yes, the one from American Idol...she's a local radio DJ) were talking about the radio stalker story from Tampa, FL.

Producer Ty began to tell a story about how in college, he was assigned a lab partner for the semester. He had to skip class one day for a job assignment (broadcasting live from an event). When the event was over, he had 40+ missed calls from his lab partner, Christina, wondering why he missed class. The next day, after his assignment, he was working as a DJ at the station, and when his shift was over, he went outside to find Christina leaning on his car waiting for him. (He told this story live this morning).

A few months past, and we come to today, when they covered the Tampa stalker story. They began asking for live call-ins with comments on the story. The person that handles calls told the DJs that there was an urgent call on Line 2. CJ picked up, and it was Christina, who had been listening live. She was emotional because they called her a stalker. BUT WAIT!  That's not all! She tells them that she is parking in their parking lot, and Ty needs to come out to see her!

They send Ty out with his cell phone on so we can hear what's going on. They get in a verbal argument, and Alexis Grace is sent out to break it up. She screams, drives off, and they start playing songs again. Everything seems to be back to normal.

A few seconds later, during a break, Christina comes back with a brick, and smashes the window in their studio. (Their microphones are kept on and recording, even during breaks, so they are able to play the window smash back over the air).

What do you think about this? Crazy or what?

Interesting, I was thinking of job alternatives just last night. Great minds think alike!

In the event that meteorology wouldn't work out for me, I'd be working as a technician at either ThyssenKrupp Elevator or Simplex Grinnell fire alarms.
