There looks to be a server error. No warnings are being shown on the big map right now either.

Yeah, lol. The Memphis TV stations started using that term, because it really wasn't a hurricane, just a derecho that packed winds of 100+ MPH.

That was pretty much the scene for Hurricane Elvis back in 2003 in Memphis. Roofs ripped off, power poles snapped and dangling, etc. See my post in the Severe Wx thread for more info.

Last night, our site StormChaseTN was hacked and malware was embedded in all of the pages. I'm only telling you this because there is a link to the site in my signature, and when you click it...it should throw a red flag. So right now, DON'T click the link in my signature and ignore your browser's warnings. Stupid hackers >.>

EDIT: The malware is gone! You might still get a red flag because it has to be re-approved, but all the malware is gone so you can safely travel to the link in my signature.

We had one very similar move through the Memphis area in 2003. Technically called the "Summer Storm of 2003", most Memphians refer to it as Hurricane Elvis, because it packed winds that of a Category 2 hurricane. Which actually was a coincidence, because the next tropical entity to be named would have been an E.

I remember power being out at my house for 2 and a half weeks. The next few days after the storm, 100 degree temperatures. No A/C for 2/3rds of the city. Hardly no national news coverage. However, soon after, NYCs power went out for an hour and a half, and every national network is breaking in with breaking news. It's like they forget about us down here sometimes...
