When we first got DirecTV, they did NOT include the local channels. So the only way to watch the local news here is to switch signals.

LOL We switched from Dish to DirecTV because Dish did not carry local channels

P.S. Is this chat all about TWC or just about Lightning Rod in general? Because if it is a LR chat, why would someone be asking what LOT8s is?

Sometime yesterday or Sunday, the LDL on the SD Feed was frozen on Dallas Ft. Wort (yea, the LDL was in the middle of transitioning) for over 30 minutes.

You can't take out the Tides, its essential to local boaters and tourists.

But the next closest that should be removed to allow for the river stages product is Getaway.

Most areas near rivers don't have Tides. If there is a Tides screen on a STAR near a river, just don't put it in, or take out Getaway.

What is taken out so that Tides can be shown? Just take that out and out River Stages in......

EDIT: I guess showing something like that during a Flood Watch would be the best time to show it, it shouldn't be shown on a regular basis imo.

I had an idea for all IntelliSTARs near a major river (i.e., Mississippi River): River Stages. I understand if you do not get to this, but possibly for the next IntelliSTAR update? It's important to people of Memphis when the MS River gets above flood stage. It is even more important to people near Fargo with the Red River. This would be simular to the "Tides" screen.  Thank you SO much for your consideration!

Where do you guys get your weather data from? Right now, it is showing "Thunder Storms" for Southaven, but the nearest Thunderstorm is 2 counties away. 


EDIT: Now, is says "Partly Cloudy", but it never rained, or thundered for that matter.

Is it possible to have a Record High Screen and a Record Low Screen on the same day?

Well, it just so happens that on my TWC calendar that gives monthly weather facts that

On August 11, 1984, Miami had a record high of 96 degrees F and a record low of 70 degrees F on the same day, due to a thunderstorm.

Well, it can happen, but you wouldn't see a Record Temperature Screen back then.
