Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Quick Question
« on: September 30, 2010, 06:09:37 PM »
I have always wondered...at what point of posts do the member ranks increase?

For instance
Newbie - 0 posts
Junior - 50 posts
Full - 100 posts
Senior - 200 posts (I believe)

I have been on Senior for a while now, so I thought I would ask.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Weatherscan Reboot Needed
« on: September 18, 2010, 01:50:12 PM »
This afternoon, I turned on TWC to find the 2006-2010 icons set being used, and the Gray Ticker showing regional conditions....it's font was reverted back to the slim font. Also, the "Palmer Drought Severity" screen is showing "Temporarily Unavailable". This has been happening for a while now. I don't know if this is because of a reboot, or if a reboot is needed. Thanks STAR team!

TWC and your Cable Company / DirecTV/TWC Volume Issue?
« on: September 12, 2010, 08:22:25 AM »
For some reason, with my HD DVR DirecTV reciever, TWC has to be at 30 dBz., when all other channels have to be at no more than 15 dBzs. (Saying that TWC is VERY quiet.) This is only on our HD DVR, but our DVR reciever and our regular reciever have no problem. If you have DirecTV HD DVR, please post if this is happening to you. I am 100% sure it is not the TV, unless the TV hates TWC (it only happens on TWC)  :P

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / URGENT: STAR is frozen
« on: September 02, 2010, 08:15:45 PM »
Sorry I had to RE: to you, Mike, but for some reason, I can't post new topics.

Well anyway, I was talking to someone on the TWC Facebook page who reported that her STAR was frozen.

The only data that I have is that the STAR is in Newnan, GA. We have a TWCT member there, so I am pulling up some of his videos to get the STAR ID. Thanks SO much, STAR Team, I know she will appreciate it!

EDIT: It seems proper that our Newnan TWC fan WOULD delete all of his videos. I'll try to get in touch with him another way.

Local Forecast / 39 of Trammell Starks' Songs Located
« on: August 30, 2010, 06:47:37 PM »
The Memphis EMA Director, whom I know VERY well, has been a long-time Trammell fan. I just found out today that way back when, he got a CD of 42 of Trammell's songs. It has the TWC logo on it, as seen below. I am VERY excited that I got this, so I thought I would let everyone know!

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / 24745 Request
« on: August 27, 2010, 08:35:16 PM »
I have noticed something on the #24745 IntelliSTAR (Downtown Memphis).

1. There are 2 different HiRAD sites in Memphis. The one at the Memphis International Airport is the one featured on the regional and metro maps. While the one in Downtown is the one shown on the CC and the LDL.

Memphis IntelliSTAR - 100 Degree Temperatures - July 31, 2010

In this video, the CC screen is showing 98° while the LDL shows 100°. This could confuse the average viewer. I suggest changing the city name on the CC Screen to simply "Memphis", and changing the Downtown HiRAD site (shown on CC and metro) to the one at the airport.

Thanks a BUNCH STAR Team! Your help is appreciated!  :D

I had an idea for all IntelliSTARs near a major river (i.e., Mississippi River): River Stages. I understand if you do not get to this, but possibly for the next IntelliSTAR update? It's important to people of Memphis when the MS River gets above flood stage. It is even more important to people near Fargo with the Red River. This would be simular to the "Tides" screen.  Thank you SO much for your consideration!

Local Forecast / Poll: Flat Basemaps or Rounded Basemaps?
« on: July 10, 2010, 11:18:11 AM »
I thought I would start a topic about this, because I was curious.

Do you prefer the "flat" basemaps (as seen on the Emergency Satellite Forecast) or the rounded basemaps (as seen on the Regular Satellite Forecast)?

I chose the Flat Basemaps, because they actually shows the Northwest AND the Southwest, instead of just the West.

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Like/Dislike Button?
« on: July 09, 2010, 11:12:15 AM »
I don't know if this is possible, because I am not that familiar with forums, but I thought I would throw this out there.

Say you agree with someone's post...so you post ANOTHER post saying "I agree "....well, instead of wasting forum space like that, add a like/dislike button below someone's post. Kindof like Facebook....If you agree, click LIKE, if you don't agree, click DISLIKE.

Thanks for looking into this!

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Small #24745 Request
« on: July 07, 2010, 08:47:25 AM »
On the LDL, the 3 cities are MEMPHIS, GERMANTOWN, and HORN LAKE.

I would reccommend the largest town from the 3 metro counties. With that being said, these are my suggestions...

Shelby County, TN - Keep MEMPHIS as the main observation site.
DeSoto County, MS - Change HORN LAKE to SOUTHAVEN, as Southaven is the largest city in the county.
Crittenden County, AR - Change GERMANTOWN (Shelby) to WEST MEMPHIS (Crittenden)

This spreads out the cities a tad bit more. Thank you for your understanding!

Can the Satellite/Radar be shifted a little to the West where it is centered on Memphis? Right now it is centered inbetween Nashville/Knoxville.

Thanks!
