Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion

Remember how I was ranting about the DirecTV LF not cueing? Well, I found the solution. If a little window pops up saying, "GET LOCAL WEATHER NOW" or something like that, if you want to see the LF app, don't respond to those little windows.

Personally, I prefer the temperature information to the moon information.  The SD Intellistar in my area uses only the temperature page.
The IntelliStar in my area only showed the temp page last time I saw it (circa 2008).

where did you get that background?
That background comes with the Mac. It's called Earth Horizon, which is under the Nature category.

Changed my background today. It's a picture of the bottom of a Late 2010 MacBook Air. :offtopic: Apple really didn't want people to fiddle around with its innards, hence the 5-pointed screw. Not to mention that the SSD chips and RAM are soldered to the motherboard.

I think Alex, Earl, Igor, and Karl will be retired. They did cause some damage, but not in the US.

It's so awesome! If only there was a drooling smiley… :P

Just a few questions:

1.) Does the narration in the beginning ever say, "Currently, the temperature is…" instead of "Currently in our area…"?

2.) Is there a version of the almanac that has record temps instead of moon phases like on the IS?

3.) Have there been any bugs?

Otherwise, you're lucky to have an HDTV and the IS2. The STAR ID is interesting; it skips from starting with 2 on the IS to starting with 9. 99910 does sound interesting for one.

It seems to me that no one is sure what to do with TWC's future.  We can't go all the way back to the past as things have completely changed since the 1980s.  However, we can't just abandon the past completely as there are lots of useful elements that established TWC's roots, which can still be incorporated for the future.  It really sounds like we're at a crossroads here with these two clashing viewpoints.

I personally think the best answer is in the middle.  Live coverage is important, and there should be a minimum number of hours devoted each day for it no matter what's happening.  If the weather is active, then more time should be used for live coverage.  Furthermore, the quality of long-form time needs to be improved.  Focus on creating shows that reflect back on recent weather events, prepare us for an upcoming season, or commemorate anniversaries of memorable weather.  Overall, there needs to be far more emphasis on education in both live coverage and long-form time.  Most of the public has no clue how the weather works, and it would create more interest if they explained how and why things worked more often instead of just casually breezing through the weekly planner or showing a long-form episode that's only for "eye candy" purposes.  So, there's my idea.
That, my friend, is an awesome idea!

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

Is the LDL translucent now? Just when it was cueing out a while ago, you could see through it.
No.
It would be cool if it were, though. Like the old XL LDL, but more advanced and a blue tint.
I answered my own question. The LDL is only translucent in the blue shine/halo at the bottom center of it.

Let me guess, was DirecTv offering a sports package deal for tv?
Yes it was.

A song from this month's primetime playlist (don't know the name) played in a DirecTV ad.

Can you get a clip of it? I'll try to ID it.
I don't know if I can, but I'll try to (vaguely) describe it. It sounds dramatic, like it belongs in a movie
