Provided TWC didn't lie to us again, :P The 8PM ET hour of PM Edition Weekend will be the last 2-person show from studio 1B, with presumably EEWC being the last ever show from that studio.

There was a long emergency feed during Full Force Nature this afternoon. My DVR's buffer only went back to 1:45 PM CT, and the emergency feed was already going at that point. It lasted until 1:48 when they went to commercial, and it wound up causing WWC to start a minute late at the top of the hour.

Anyone else find it odd that Dr. Forbes has done all of his segments from the key wall the past two days. I know he's done it in the past, but usually he returns to the Expert Desk at some point, but not time time. Could something be going on over there two that has taken that part of the studio out of commission?

Okay, that's a dead proposition; Dr. Forbes is back at the Expert Desk today.

At any rate, I had a dream this morning that they moved the old big desk over to where the expert desk was and turned the rest of the studio into the old 2001-2006 CNN Headline News set. :whistling:

Ok, let's try some more... Hey, don't boo me yet! :footinmouth:

If they made a food product to honor Adam Berg, what would it be called?

An Adam Berg-er!

If Adam Berg broke into someone's house and stole something, what would you call him?

An Adam Berg-lar!

You know what, I have a feeling that the in-house STARs might actually be displayed not only in that room, but also on the monitors next to the Global Forecast Center. Back when the Plasma screen used to be by the GFC, they went to that shot right after an LF, and I could've sworn I saw a 4000 running on one of the monitors. That would also explain monitors lag behind the others; perhaps the feed is delayed by a few seconds on certain STARs?

Everything Else TWC / Re: TWC going dark for Earth Hour
« on: March 30, 2008, 12:50:57 AM »
Same thing last night.

I know they did mess with the lights when they were shooting that farce of an Earth Hour video. They might have burnt out the lighting around the TWC logo, or they never turned those lights back on.

It actually creates the illusion that the big backdrop is properly lit since the logo wall is so dark!

Nice pic. Is that TS Gamma on the monitor there?

BTW, I must admit I was happy when Adam Berg announced that he'll be doing EEWC tonight. Cheryl does a better job when paired with someone, anyway.

Only twice a day, AFAIK, once around 5 AM and once around 5 PM; it's not nearly enough for the ever-changing forecasts.

Everything Else TWC / The problem with weather.com video forecasts
« on: March 29, 2008, 10:40:48 PM »
They're outdated!

Seriously, Dave recorded tonight's videos several hours ago, but the forecast for Chicago on Monday is already outdated. The video shows a high of 55, but the official TWC forecast has already been changed to a high of 62, with many local affiliates already predicting even higher. Even so, the weather.com video won't be updated until at least 5 AM tomorrow. Perhaps they need more OCMs to work later at night on these videos so they won't get outdated like this?
