Making excuses is my specialty.
It's not like we couldn't tell. :whistling:

Anyway, back on topic; excellent job on those graphics, Tyler! B)

It seems they have restored the blue TWC logo back on the national feed, and the LDL logo is back to blue as well.

No, NBC & MSNBC are back to normal as of 8PM E.
He was talking about TWC (TWC's logo is still green). ;)

The topic, then, was all wrong. Joyce Cooling is on the Narada label, Norman Brown has been on Warner and Motown labels (and only Motown is with Universal), Charlie Parker is on Rhino, Benoit is on GRP, Joe Sample is on Warner, Vince Guaraldi is on Fantasy, and Bernie Williams and Rippingtons are both GRP. Only one album from one artist is on a Universal label.
Interesting, because I got a copyright notice on YT for a Joe Sample song posted at it was from UMG, not Warner. I wonder why UMG claimed it instead of Warner.

I doubt that highly EXCEPT in Dave's case. He'd either have to go and get his degree in meteorology, or find another field of work because he's not an actual meteorologists. But the other two should have no problem finding work again.
Dave is, actually; TWC wouldn't label an OCM as a meteorologist if he wasn't an actually meteorologist.

You. ;)

General Discussion / Re: Post your desktops

My laptop's desktop, now with Windows XP:

That didn't last too long. :P I had to put Vista back on this machine because XP couldn't activate - so I'd be unable to use it after 30 days. I realize there are ways to disable that but I'd like to keep it legal. ;) So back to Vista I go.

I actually restored it back to Vista by not using the Recovery software on my Recovery partition, but with the Vista Restore disc that shipped with my laptop. It actually installed a clean copy of Vista, with no Dell crap on it (though there is still some Dell branding in certain places). It was also pre-activated since it belongs to this machine. Oddly enough it seems to be quite faster than the Vista installation it shipped with (and the installation it reverts back to if I had used the recovery partition method) - and I guess I can attribute that to it being a basically stock install of Vista (although I have installed the updates including SP1). Overall so far it's running great, and I hope it stays that way. *knocks on wood* :ninja:

Speaking of blizzards, we may be looking at just that this weekend. There's the possibility that a storm currently in the Rockies will dip DIVE down towards Florida, and then ride the East Coast.
Fixed. :P

I'll think about getting either a Dell or HP desktop. Definitely not another Compaq if this one only lasted for roughly three years.
Compaq IS HP, by the way. ;)

(HP bought them out several years ago.)

Have either of you ever tried to FIX one?
No, because this machine has never really needed repairing besides reinstalling the OS.

HP is also pretty good IMO. I have an HP Pavilion 563w that's around 5 years old, and is still going strong. It has pretty decent specs, even for this day and age (512 MB RAM, 2.39 GHz processor speed, 80 GB HD, etc.). It cost us about $1,000 or so when we bought this thing, and it was definitely worth that money (because of the long life).

Thanks for sharing that, Stephen. Are Dells any good? My school has them but I've never owned one myself, or tried it anywhere else.
Yeah, they're pretty good machines.

Dells still have XP installed? I thought all new PCs now come preinstalled w/Vista?

Yes - if you purchase a Dell desktop/laptop with Windows Vista Ultimate or Business Bonus, you can get XP Professional pre-installed for you: http://www.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/winxp_inspndt?c=us&cs=19&l=en&ref=dthp&s=dhs

it better NOT be permanent... I'm seeing that it's only for a week, so let's pray it's not green forever :(
It's not permanent. ;)
