Interestingly, they put together a recorded top-of-the-hour teaser for EE Weekend. I haven't seen that done in a while. And of course, instead of letting the opener transition out like normal, they just faded in to the studio before the transition occurred. 
They're also using the afternoon lower thirds so far on the show.

Though, the color scheme for the graphics should be much darker; it reminds me more of Your Weather Today than Evening Edition. 
Also, based on that LDL location I believe that opener came from Derek.

They need to make the on-air appearance more "backwards compatible" with older STARs.That's not a top priority for them because 1) The 4000/Jr. LDL is rarely cued and 2) The 4000 and Jr. isn't very common (compared to the IS). So I highly doubt they will ever do that.
