Last night, we got a pretty big storm, and we picked up 2 inches of rain from it! 
It started raining at 1 am, and it stopped sometime after 5am (with breaks in between, though). I actually went to bed at about 1 am, but the storm woke my up an hour later due to the loud thunder. 
I finally got back to sleep sometime after 5 am.
We need more of these storms (though I'd rather have it during the day, than while I'm sleeping).
