Gil's in trouble! :pHe certainly will be the next time he acts up.
The cordless phone runs through the entire 2Ghz band. As for those GHz labels on the channels, their pretty much universal. If your router is on channell 11, you can be confident that that is the frequency its on.Well, I guess the only solution would be to move the phone further away from the modem. Which is pointless now since we're switching to Cable in a few days.
My router is a Linksys, and here is what my 11 is:
Not sure if it's the same, but it might help.
Its at 11. how do i find the frequence? like the GHz number?I don't believe you can. Mine's set at 11, too, and I've looked through my router config page and I can't find a way to find the GHz number.
Question: how do you find out what frequency the router is opperating at?Go to your router's configuration page by typing your Gateway IP address in your address bar in your browser. Go to the "Wireless" section. There, it should tell you what your current channel/frequency it's operating at, and you will have an option to make changes. It may look/be different depending on your router.
Yes. That would be the same thing. :/Hmm. That's very odd why it didn't work. Once we get cable in a few days, the modem and the router will be in a different location (away from the cordless phone), so we'll for sure have no more problems with the connection.
I know you can do this for Linksys routers, but in your router's configuration page (if it has one), you may be able to change the frequency that the router operates at.It has an option to change the channel. Is that the same thing? And we've tried it - it doesn't work.
Just curious, what make/model wireless router do you have? Because there's a high chance that the router is also operating at 2.4 GHz.The modem is a Westell Versalink Model 327W. It's a modem/router combination, in the sense that it connects to the DSL service, and then routes the connection to all the computers.
What kind of phones do you have in your house? We have a cordless phone in the living room, and a corded phone in my parents room. We've unplugged them and now the internet connection has been working fine for about an hour now.
