Excellent! While your at it, do you think you might be able to snag the dancing emoticon for me? Perhaps from TWCC? Thanks!  :shades:
Yes. :) (I'll also get the smiling emoticon, too.)

Stephen, I noticed that when I go to post, all the smiley's are visible now, whereas they used to be in a dropdown. Is it possible to get it that way again? Or do you think they'r better left as they are?
That's exactly what I was planning to fix.

General Discussion / Re: Laptop Battery Life
« on: November 15, 2007, 06:59:42 AM »
Speaking of Laptop Batteries, I don't have a laptop, but my dad has one and his battery never runs out because the charger is connected when he works on it.
That's usually what happens when you have the charger hooked up. ;)

I was going to add the emoticons myself today, but thanks anyway. ;) Yeah, I'll get those added.

Stephen, is everything good now?
I was sleeping at that time. ;)

EDIT: BTW, you didn't CHMOD the Attachments directory, because I still can't upload my avatar:

The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.

Try going to your FTP, and CHMOD the upload directory to 777. If you do that, it should work.
Gary, you're going to need to do this to the forums/Smileys directory, so I can re-add the emoticons.

EDIT: You're also going to need to do this to the Avatars directory, as well as (possibly) the Attachments directory, so we can upload avatars and attachments on the board.

Well, the backup is from September 21, so it looks like this thread was started right on time for Fall to start. :p
Yeah, that's true. :P

Starting this thread again since we seem to have gone back to an extremely old backup back when the Front Porch was still open. Hopefully, we can get everything restored on the site and everything on the forum fixed very soon. :)

General Discussion / Your software preferences
« on: September 21, 2007, 08:44:27 PM »
This thread is for you to post what software you prefer: browsers, email, OS, etc. Please provide a short explanation of why you prefer it, as well.

I'll start off:

1. Browser: Firefox. I've used it since version 1.0-ish, and I've loved it ever since. Way better than IE, it's safer and secure, and it's faster. I only use IE for the occasional website that refuses to cooperate with Fx.

2. Email: Outlook Express (XP machine). I may setup Windows Mail on my Vista laptop, but I haven't gotten a chance to.

3. Operating System: Windows Vista. I've had it for about a week now on my new laptop, and I really like it. It runs very fast and it's very stable. The UI is quite nice too. I have the Home Basic version, so I don't get to experience the Windows Aero interface, but still, the regular Vista interface is quite nice. B) I still use XP on my desktop PC whenever I'm not using the laptop.

What do YOU prefer?
