It does, but there were tornado warnings and severe weather warnings all over the place yesterday, even when it was sunny outside of my house.

General Discussion / AIM 5.9 on Windows Vista

I tried to download and install AIM 5.9 onto my Vista laptop, because AIM 6 sucks. It did install, but it won't run. I double click the icon and nothing happens. I tried using Compatibility Mode (which never works for anything in the first place), same thing. I tried this fix: http://messageboards.aol.com/aol/en_us/articles.php?boardId=564524&articleId=13&func=5 and it's not working either. Is there any other way I can get AIM 5.9 to work with Vista?

This computer is MUCH better than my laptop, despite the fact that my laptop is only a few months old. This new laptop has a Dual Core processor, 2 GB of RAM (this thing is going to FLY), and Vista Home Premium, which means it has Windows Aero (but the standard theme on Home Basic (which I have on my laptop) is basically Aero without the transparency), and Windows Media Center. I'm jealous.

Merry Christmas everyone! So, what did Santa bring to you guys?

I got:
-some clothes
-a carrying bag for my laptop
-a "Chill Mat" for my laptop, basically, it's a little board with two fans on it that I place under my laptop whenever I'm using it (it's hooked up to my laptop via USB), and it keeps the laptop nice and cool, because it gets too hot if I have just the laptop on my lap. This is REALLY nice.

My mom got a laptop for herself, which is the exact same laptop that I have, only the specs are slightly different (I'll post those in the Computer Specs thread). Now I'll get to use my laptop all by myself (before, I shared it with my mom). Also, this was the first time I got to use the new Windows Easy Transfer feature in Vista. It was pretty simple. All I had to do was configure the network and Wi-Fi on the new laptop, then run Easy Transfer on both machines, and I transfered her account data from my laptop to her account on her laptop over the network. It even transferred her desktop background! It didn't take too long either, about 10 minutes to complete.
