Tell me, exactly how can I get Vista on a machine with only 256 MB of RAM?

Anyways, I have XP Service Pack 2 installed now, which means I'll be able to install SP3 with no problems when it comes out.

I've now uninstalled all the crapware from HP/Compaq from this machine. Now I'm going to go and install XP SP2 and other updates if they are necessary and then I'll start getting things back together.

This is the default Compaq desktop for my desktop PC which I recently reformatted and restored to factory state.



I will be removing the bunch of crap that Compaq/HP put on here before I do much of anything on this machine.

I'm currently having to re-image my Windows XP desktop computer with the built in recovery software which is on another partition of the hard drive, with an image of the Windows XP SP1 installation that the computer came with, because when I booted up the system this morning, it'd get almost to the logon screen, but it would go no further than the Windows XP logo. (It would do the same even in Safe Mode.) It's going to be fun having to install 1 million Windows Updates after this gets through.
