Hmm, they're still using the Day Planner backdrop at 7 PM CT. I bet somebody forgot to change the backdrop. :whistling: (or nobody is available to change it)

Steve, I haven't had a single CFL that didn't start out dim at first
That's correct, they do start out dim, but I actually don't mind that. I mean, I don't want to be blinded by the full brightness of the light every time I turn it on when I wake up in the morning. And besides, I usually keep it on all day (except when I go to school but even then, when I get home and turn my light on, I usually have to go get something before I can settle down, so the bulb usually warms up almost completely by then.).

1. They should be able to be used in any location. Obviously CFL's aren't...
That I'll agree with, but I won't agree with 2 and 3.

2. Instant light is a given. You should NEVER have to WAIT for light to come on.
Only older CFLs had that problem. With most modern CFLs, they start up instantly.

3. Dimmers. People like them, they should be able to use them.
They can. There are special CFLs out there that are compatible with dimmer switches.

BTW, just so there's no confusion - while I am for CFLs - I am NOT for the banning of incandescents.

So when incandescents are discontinued, then what do we use to get light?
You'll have to let someone else figure that one out. :P

Why not, anyway?
Because the CFL's lifetime is reduced dramatically (by 85%) if it is constantly being turned off and on, like it would be in a bathroom.

Sorry, but anything that doesn't produce light now needs to go back to the drawing board.  I'm not going to wait five minutes while I have to use the bathroom to get light!
Well, you're not supposed to use CFLs in the bathroom in the first place. :whistling:

Now Adam Berg and Kristina Abernathy are here for the rest of PM Edition and Evening Edition.

I wonder why they weren't available for the 5 PM CDT hour?

As for the lack of a pre-recorded teaser; normally that would be done only by whatever crew is hosting the full controlled hour, from what I can tell.
That's odd. I normally see a pre-recorded teaser used on the master controlled hour of PME Weekend.

Interesting, Carl Parker and Kristin Dodd are hosting the first hour of PM Edition tonight.

Also, apparently, they're not using a pre-recorded teaser tonight for some reason.

Why do you have bugs in your house?
I don't. Just the ones that manage to get in my house are attracted to light bulbs for some reason, both incandescent and compact fluorescent.

NO! GRRRRR. I mean, I haven't had a regular bulb act weird like that. No balasts or overheating with incandescents. Sounds like CFL's are plagued with bugs.
Stop with the attitude, please. <_<

Funny how you should mention "plagued with bugs", because the bulb was, literally, plagued with bugs. :P This bulb was installed over our kitchen stove, and it had TONS of dead flies on it.

I haven't had a regular bulb ever do anything like that.
Huh? You haven't had a regular bulb burn out?
