TWC and your Cable Company / Re: AT&T U-Verse?

I think TWC still says that AT&T does not have IntelliStar units. Watch out.

Last night, one of the teaser transitions said A&B on it. Whoops!

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Cox in Hampton Roads Adding TWC HD!

This has me excited, because this means Cox had to have signed a contract.

Then again, the only HD test channel right now is our ION affiliate.

@_@ Whoa, that requires a TWC archaeologist like Chazz to unearth.

I guess they were giving it a final hurrah.

I can see the Adam Berg one though: "In other news, gang, a large Weather Channel graphic cloud is hovering over central California, dumping letters that appear to spell my name. Too bad it is not Chooseday!"

A blanket and The Weather Channel. Ah, the smell of a long-form show... :P

I know, but I was pulling the angle out to show more of NBC News.

I've noticed that MSNBC and TWC have aggressively expanded their use of Twitter in just the past month. At least two anchors and one TV show on MSNBC (as well as MSNBC.com feeds) have a Twitter, and on TWC, Heather, Jeff Mielcarz, Jim Cantore, A&B, and TWCi in general have one. TWCi and company follow a lot of TV station Twitters, including WOOD-TV, WXIA, and WCMH.

NBC News, The Today Show, Al Roker, Nightly News, Meet the Press, CNBC (inactive), and possibly others are also on Twitter.

Programming and Graphics / Re: Major schedule changes on the way

Some boxes are a TV Guide solution, and others might have the ubiquitous TMS service.

For what it's worth, our TMS-supplied guide data has never changed...though EE does show every Wednesday now. It's really wrecked...First Outlook, YWT, WeatherCenter in 3 hour increments (except for EE 9-10 on Wed.), The Weather Classroom. Last updated 2001, I'd think. The Zap2It guide (also a TMS supplied service) is current with long-form shows. (It does have the old logo for the channel logo, though.)

With EE exiting stage left on Sunday, it'll be really out of whack.

On Storm Stories, they had the Nashville tornado last night, and I realized TWC had a conflict of interest with the television station. The station was WTVF Nashville, a station (then) owned by Landmark. TWC and WTVF were the only properties Landmark could get sold. (However, the WTVF sale fell through when Lehman Brothers went bankrupt-o.)

And I got to see the old TWC logo. Hip-hip-hooray!

That wouldn't be a conflict of interest.

At the time that was produced (2004), TWC and WTVF were co-owned by Landmark.

The masters of EEWC, evicted from their empire.

Oh yeah, and I found an article on Storm Stories: http://www.multichannel.com/article/179707-_Storm_Stories_Twists_Into_Weather_Channel_s_Tornado_Week.php?rssid=20059

OCMs / It's about time: Myke Motley, Declan Cannon pop up in Birmingham
« on: February 19, 2009, 11:03:06 PM »

While watching this video, I made a major discovery at 6:30. The station is WIAT Birmingham (and this video is from 1998 at least). Myke Motley is one of the news anchors, and meteorologist Declan Cannon pops up in a reference to the forecast.
