No.

Do you know anybody who actually likes TWC's crap long-form programming?

Hurricane, unless:
1. it hits us
2. it has something to do with the stupid hockey team in NC, I hate those guys...they beat my Boston Bruins 4 out of 4 matchups last season...

NWS always!

Country or Rap?
1. :D
2. Neither. I think both suck.

To alert you for a tornado warning at 1:30am-ish: a siren on an NWR receiver, or a peizo tri-tone from the TWC app emitted from your iPhone (or other smartphone)?

I love that weather radio reception in the car is really good.

Yes.

Do you think Windows Live Movie Maker is too restrictive for a consumer level editing software for video as compared to both competitors and Mac's iMovie?

Definitely yes!

Do you think that governments shouldn't set video recording limits on cameras?

No, especially crowded elevators, where the dummies in the elevator RUIN my video.

Do you like the beach?

General Discussion / Re: What radio stations do you listen to and why?
« on: August 03, 2012, 10:54:23 PM »
NOAA Weather Radio - because it's my hobby. WNG575 is the closest local station; there are also other stations serving me.

AM 740, forget call sign - when I'm with my great-grandmother. They play some old songs that are WAY BETTER than the crap put out today.
AM 1030, WBZ - again, with great-grandmother. Local news station.

That's practically it, as all of the other stations suck big time. 103.3 FM used to be an Oldies station (classic hits), but in late June OF COURSE they had to go under a huge re-branding and play this new crap I was telling you about. 106.3 Frank FM (WFNQ) used to play a lot of classic rock (70s-era) and they still do, but I have my iPod to listen to. Sometimes, my mother turns on 107.9 WXKS-FM (aka "Kiss 108"), which is a HORRIBLE new crap station. I have had to hold my iPod up to my ear on several occasions when that station is played. More often than not though she hooks up her iPhone to her car speakers and plays country music, which is VERY annoying. I have had to hold my iPod up to my ear on several occasions too when this occurs. I usually try to take my headphones with me when possible, especially when we're at the mall, so I can listen to MY tunes while walking from elevator to elevator for my elevator videography hobby.

That's it. I generally STAY AWAY from the radio when I can.

I do not want a Sony Cybershot DSC-TX100V for my birthday on the 28th. Additionally, effective January 1, 2013, TWC will return to live weather 24/7 on their main channel, and spin off their long form to a separate channel called "TWC LONGFORM", which will be sold to The Discovery Channel.

"New shows"...more like "new pieces of junk that belong on the Discovery Channel". :(

Everything Else TWC / Re: TWC Acquires....Wunderground!?!?!?!
« on: August 03, 2012, 08:19:15 PM »
I sense that things will remain the same for 1-3 years, but then wunderground.com will simply be turned into a redirect to weather.com
:( Hopefully if that happens TWC will let users run a live NWR stream like Wunderground does, or EAS fans (myself included) are going to be angry because we wouldn't be able to get streaming alerts anymore!
Many forecast offices broadcast their streams online already. Its a nice feature but sadly one that is becoming outdated and doesn't impact that many people.
You're confusing those with the Wunderground ones. The one you are referring to is the one where ROUTINE product mp3 files are found on some National Weather Service office sites. Full live streams can be found on Wunderground.

Really?! Because even on the NWS stream page, a lot of the streams link to Wunderground. :dunno:
Yep. He confused the routine mp3 files with the Wunderground stream.

I looked at the schedule and I was mortified at what I saw. Especially Pyros. What does pyrotechnics have to do with weather anyway?
I know, right? I was trying to record LOT8's at my beach house on Sunday and because of the pyrotechnics show, they only showed the LDL! NOT EVEN THE L-BAR! Better luck today (HOPEFULLY)...

Local Forecast / Re: Severe Weather Alerts

Do u live in Georgia? I ask that because Georgia has a lot of small counties.
Per his profile he lives in Massachusetts, although that state also has pretty small counties.
Yes, I do live in MA, Dracut to be specific - the northeastern-most town in Middlesex County and a town on the MA/NH border that has yet to get FiOS thanks to the town hall being reluctant ever since it came out. I am along a FOUR COUNTY LINE - Hillsborough and Rockingham in NH and Essex and Middlesex in MA. There's not much space between the Middlesex/Hillsborough, Middlesex/Essex, Essex/Rockingham and Hillsborough/Rockingham lines, and I call it the "Quad Counties". All of them are served by NWS Taunton, except for Rockingham, which is served by Gray, ME.

Here's the interesting part..NWS Taunton always says that we are in SE MA in warnings , even if it's for just Dracut and the neighboring city of Lowell, and the other immediate Greater Lowell towns of Chelmsford, Tewksbury and Tyngsboro. Additionally, they say Essex County in Eastern MA in warnings, even for just NW Essex, to my immediate east.
