Hey, at least it isn't red
This is the difference between a blizzard and an ordinary winter storm. Q is considered the latter of the two. So, this means the long form stays on the air without much in the way of additional coverage. I've always held that severe weather, though disastrous and inconvenient, makes TWC so much more watchable.
Arguably, this has already happened between the addiction to long-form, the questionable removal of some OCM's, and the new LF music format, but I feel that 60-second LOT8's only will represent a true shark jump more than anything we've seen so far. In a 60-second format, some segments have to be left out, or else each segment must go by faster. Both of these outcomes lead to a less complete LF.
Set Fire to the Rain by Adele
It's funny because I hear "Set Fire to the Rain" (which won a Grammy this year) on the radio fairly regularly. I suppose this song's not too bad for vocal LFs, since the title of the song even refers to a weather condition, athough if they're going to play Adele I would rather hear "Rumour Has It" (and in particular the bridge portion of that song).
I've seen local TV stations use similar views when the meteorologists are doing their forecasts on remote from local events such as fairs and the like. I guess TWC's lowering itself to their level. I agree wholeheartedly about the ocean color, but I guess they did it to differentiate the normally-blue water from the always-blue 30°'s to 40°'s temperature range.
