Well guys, it happened.  TWC has restarted the alphabet with "Winter Storm Achilles."

Somehow, I just knew it would.   I guess this will hold them over for one more month until the start of the Atlantic hurricane season.

What is that, exactly?  One wonders if that would be considered a believable forecast were it posted in the weather forecasting contest we have coming up.  ;)

That makes sense.  They're recycling their forecasts.  I guess it's another way of going green.   With yet another cold front coming even for me this week, it does seem a little repetitive.

They're actually bothering to report Tor:Con's of 3 for various midwestern locales.  I can tell they want some severe weather to forecast/cover, but they're not getting much.  During that last storm chase video I saw, it sounded almost like the chasers were disappointed at the dissipation of the storms.

TWC is forecasting a spring/summer from May on with above-average temperatures and below-average rainfall for much of the U.S.  Come to think of it, I remember them forecasting that nearly every year for as long as I've been watching.  This April has been known for its cooler weather, though.  It's been noted that the severe weather side of things will be getting off to a slow start this May, and they were quick to point out that this has been the case for the last several Mays.

You know, the icons did the same exact thing on my DirecTV.  Since others have experienced it, it makes me wonder if the problem was on DirecTV as a whole rather than an individual receiver.

General Discussion / Re: Songs You Love To Hate
« on: April 27, 2013, 10:14:53 PM »
But I listen to every generation of music, there are no songs that I truly hate.

This.  I listen to a wide variety too, and I can hear a '50s tune followed by a smooth jazz instrumental followed by a pop song released last year without batting an eye.  I tend to draw my preferences on genre lines rather than generation lines.  The only major genres I really don't do are hard rock and rap.

With that being said, I can't think of any song off the top of my head that I hate, even though I do have favorites.

It sounds to me like I may have to set aside a TWC-watching day next week.  I also agree with Mike about changes being in the air for the near future.  This might be trouble.  :noexpression:

Local Forecast / Re: TWC Songs you've heard in other places

The night before last, I heard "Every Breath You Take" by The Police (Apr. '13 list) on KVIL FM 103.7.  Last night, it was "Set Fire to the Rain" by Adele (Feb. '13 list) on the same station.

EDIT: Might as well tack on "Take On Me" by A-Ha (Jun. '12 list) on the same station last night (04/29/13).

The price is $3.14 (or π for those who like math) for me.  It's not moving much, which usually means it's about to go up.

I hope you had a Happy Birthday!   :)  To me, it seems like at one time a year was almost forever; now it's no time at all.  So, I know what you mean.
