Who would have ever thought this would happen?  I like never would have guessed that this thing would fall apart the way it has. 

One thing's for sure, this hurricane season is everything I thought it would be.  The forecasters were bound to bust eventually after forecasting these above average seasons nearly every year.

I'll trade my weather for yours.    We've been getting 100° heat and not much rain (although it did rain yesterday).  In fact, we haven't even reached 70° for a low since last month.

The 30-second locals (and the accompanying commercials) aren't necessarily going away just because two-minute LFs show back up.  If TWC wants to keep plenty of ads while still running two-minute LFs, they could run the two-minute LFs at :28 and :58 as Twcfan68 suggested and run the 30-second version at all other :x8 times.  This would be an acceptable compromise to me.  Then, the vocals (if they have to run) could be relegated to the "off-peak" times and the good stuff could be heard at :28 and :58.

Bud, that's still a lot of storms.

It certainly is, but there will have to be some activity fairly soon for the upper ends of those ranges to be reached.  If the Cape Verde wave we've heard about doesn't amount to a named storm, that puts us near mid-August with only four.  It looks like it will take two storms a week in September to catch up at this rate.

So much for the big Atlantic hurricane season this year.  They're already trimming the forecast back a little, with 13-19 tropical storms, 6-9 hurricanes, and 3-5 majors.  Of course, the above article points out that it's the landfalls that get noticed and not necessarily the number of storms.  I guess the forecasters feel like it's better to forecast a few extra storms and scale the prediction back as needed.  Better safe than sorry.

Earlier, I heard "The In Crowd" by the Ramsey Lewis Trio (Feb. '03 list) on KAAM AM 770.

Additionally, I heard "Feels So Good" by Chuck Mangione (WUWA Aug. 17-21 '09 list) on the same station.
