What on earth?  Between the lack of weekend shows other than WCL and the lack of live shows period after 2pm on weekends, I'm afraid the channel is going to be largely unwatchable on Saturdays and Sundays.  I'll watch any football game that's on sooner than that mess, even if there's no team I care about playing.  As far as their backup plan goes, I'm afraid we saw a little taste this spring, and it wasn't good.

This makes me wonder if one day Dave Schwartz's network will rise to prominence and start appearing on basic cable packages while TWC will become NatGeo Lite.  Weather watchers need a new channel to fill the void being left by TWC's transition to Longform Network.

I think 2004/2005 featured the best music overall in this modern era.

So I guess I should say 2004 and 2005 are the best years of all TWC music used between 2001-2011.

This ↑.   Those were two of my favorite years of TWC (and not just the music) as well.  I'm going to throw 2003 in on my list, too.

I like my light in the morning and my darkness in the evening, so CST year-round in Texas would be perfect for me.  It's so hot here in the summer and it takes forever for it to cool down at night, so the summer daylight including the extra hour is next to useless for me.  It's all about beating the heat for me in the summer, so moving the extra hour of light back to the morning like it used to be would mean I could sleep through it and yet still get up early.  I heard once that Arizona doesn't observe it at all, because of the heat.

In the winter, the extra hour of night means more time for Christmas lights, which most people turn off in the early morning hours.  It also means that the sun rises closer to 7:30 rather than 8:30.  I'm a morning person and prefer light mornings.

With that being said, I realize I live in a hot southern state.  Craig, I'm guessing you live in New York, which is a northern state on the eastern edge of Eastern Time.  In your case, maybe EDT is more practical.  My sunset times never go earlier than 5:20 even without Daylight Savings.  At least states can choose whether or not to observe it.

the TWC logo is no longer blue it's more of a green tint.

I'm sure all of you have seen the green TWC logo that they use for Earth Day and such.  I wonder if this new logo is one step closer to a permanent green logo.  I prefer green, anyway, so it wouldn't bother me.

It is the break of day, and I now stand on the edge of the lake.  It is here that I have witnessed my first view of the sunrise.  The night wind has continued into the morning, but the water isn't moving.  The truth is, it is no longer water; it's ice.  I now focus my gaze on the bridge.  A black bird flies out from it's perch under the bridgeAs the crow flies away, another follows it, and then another.  I can't waste all of my time counting crows, though.  Why they were there so late into the winter is a mystery.  There has been no early frost, and I have just seen the first snow of the winter.  The wind on this January day carries a slight sting.  Cold weather is finally here.

Clear and 52 °F.  Winds E at 10 mph.  A little warmer than it has been, but still fairly pleasant.  I understand it's going to get cold next week, though.

Like Ice Pilots it's not even a new show. It's an old NatGeo series.

So TWC is essentially becoming "NatGeo Lite" like I feared?   I guess this is the closest thing to a traffic flavor we'll see...

  ...Wait a minute, what?  You mean to tell me Ice Pilots wasn't a new show?  I've deceived myself this whole time.

Don't worry about it.  :itsok:  This year really has felt like unlucky '13 at times.  It's been a rough year for most of the board from what I gather, and some friends of mine IRL have had it rather hard too.  I understand, and I'm not planning on going anywhere.  You have my best wishes, both life-wise and weather-wise.

I'll give you a thumbs up, too.

Two of the names make me think of Star Fox (rival storms if you will), while another makes me think of Star Trek.  Of course, this is the group that brought us "Q" as a name last year.  B)

Cloudy and 39 °F.  Winds N at 20 mph, gusting to 26 mph.  It's likely going to freeze tonight.  :D

EDIT: Now it's clear and 29 °F.  Winds W at 7 mph.  They say remnants of a typhoon brought warm air into the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, which forced cold air into the Midwest and South Central regions of the country.

Mostly cloudy and 55 °F.  Winds ESE at 9 mph.  The moon peeking through the clouds looks pretty if not almost creepy.  :o

It seems like no one listens anymore.  This is a trait that has pervaded our society.  The people who want 2-minute locals or instrumental-only playlists (myself included) unfortunately might be viewed by TWC as a fringe fanbase.  If the channel doesn't make any changes as a result of this poll, then the poll has been rendered a mere formality.  Will it be time for me to flip the channel to SonicTap once again for the umpteenth time to get my fix?

With that aside, the poll is a positive move.  If they are willing to listen to the loyal viewers, then maybe some of the issues will be sorted out.  Even with satellite LFs I would watch more if I could count on hearing some rare gems or seeing two (or even 1½) minutes worth of weather information.
