General Weather Chat / Re: What's the weather in your area?

Light Rain and 45 °F.  Feels like 37 °F.  Winds NNE at 20 mph, gusting to 31.  Rain so far amounts to 0.17".  The first cold front of fall (even though it's late summer officially) would appear to be here.

Perfect, they renew the show I've picked on the most.

Who knew?   This "warmest year every year" business even as the real numbers said otherwise was bound to hit a head as surely as the above normal hurricane forecasts did.  While they might not be literally proclaiming each July as the warmest, it seems like I hear "hottest ever" at least once a summer.  Even if they retained July 2012 as the warmest month, their waffling on it says something.

Cloudy and 63 °F.  Thunderstorms are in progress nearby.  Winds SSE at 20 mph, gusting to 26 mph.  A Flash Flood Watch is in effect.  Rainfall in the last 24 hours is 0.07", but there's a 90% chance of storms tonight.

This is a strange July cold front, if I do say so myself.

 B)  Sunny and 92 °F.  Winds S at 20 mph, gusting to 29 mph.  There's nothing but hot weather here anymore; last winter's an afterthought to me now.

Your Local Weather / Re: Daytona Beach sunset

Wow, that's beautiful!   I always like the sunsets that have more red in them.  There's nothing like a good sunset to end a day on a high note IMHO.

Oh, I see.  I guess it's only fair for TWC to give the study attention since it's weather-related.

 :club:

So, what do they expect?  Should the hurricanes be named with only male names, unusual names like those used for winter storms, or should they not be named at all?  IIRC, people took Katrina and Rita seriously for the most part.  There were deaths and injuries, but I certainly don't attribute those to people laughing off the storms.

General Discussion / Re: Gas prices in your area

Other countries, like China and India, are using more to pick up the slack.  In addition, people that don't want to play the slots stocks find that oil is a safe bet and so they trade in it instead.  Either one of these can cause prices to stay high.

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: AT&T to acquire DirecTV

I tell you, all these mergers or buying out between companies lately seems to be getting out of hand.

This is like putting Ma Bell back together times two.  Assuming they do this, I wonder how long it will be before they gobble up Dish too.

Right now, I'm hearing "Land Of..." by St. Germain on Music Choice Sounds of the Seasons (Jun. '03 list), which is currently formatted as The Pulse since there are no holidays right now.
