COMCAST AND GE RECEIVE REGULATORY CLEARANCE FORI doubt this changes much
NBC UNIVERSAL TRANSACTION
PHILADELPHIA, PA, AND FAIRFIELD, CT – January 18, 2011 – Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK) and General Electric (NYSE: GE) announced today that they have received regulatory clearance from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Department of Justice for the joint venture that will consist of the NBC Universal businesses and Comcast's cable networks, regional sports networks and certain digital properties. The joint venture will be 51 percent owned by Comcast, 49 percent owned by GE and managed by Comcast. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of January.
Category font size issues and index issues on the Weather Center theme have been fixed.Looks great!
I have a copy of a STAR agreement, and due to privacy issues, I won't share. But, I can tell you this: The cable operator bought the STAR from TWC according to the agreement, and it was theirs. In fact, the 4000 that I have has an asset tag on it with a number and "Propery of XYZ".VERY Interesting! Thanks for sharing that information
I am unsure why I was under that impression. What your saying seems quite logical
He knows his stuff. Quite frankly I was under the impression that the agreement was a cable company payed X for a star unit and when their contract ended they were supposed to send it back. I never heard of any case where TWC actually went after someone over it.It's not illegal. I don't know where you guys get this information from. The STAR agreement does not state that TWC owns anything, other than the fact they can elect to buy it back for less money than it was paid for. And as for the videocipher, there is nothing illegal about that either. Once the account is closed, or is unpaid, or the digital feed is used, the videocipher isn't sent any new keys, so eventually loses video. No legal trouble, no lawyers, no jail time, no arrests. It baffles me where you guys come up with this stuff.
No offense, but you're asking us to take the word of a member who has made two posts total in this forum. Doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong, but do you have any actual proof, such as a copy of a contract, to show us? Otherwise, you have to admit it's a bit of a stretch asking us to believe someone who's just appeared out of the blue and says, "believe me because I say I'm right."
If I didn't know any better I would think we were in an El Nino pattern again. This is a very interesting weather pattern were in this winter, the NAO has been so negative (turning slightly positive atm) for so many months keeping that Greenland blocking (deep troughs in the E. CONUS) in place that it's practically made La Nina none existent. December was supposed to be warm and dry here, it was the complete opposite, it was the 5th coldest December on record here. January looks to be following suit so far. I'm gonna look back at previous La Nina winters and see if there's an analog year similar to this one. Could be a lot of fun and games with the weather for the remainder of the winter. I'm still enjoying it!Its been a wacky and fun winter!
Harsh Arctic air to possibly let up by the end of the month. That would be a typical La Nina pattern. The MJO is looking pretty good for extended cold. I doubt Feb will be very warm for the east coast
