The forum is running VERY slowly today, and most pages don't load the first time.  Or the second time.

Sorry I can not replicate the problem. Things seem stable on my end

Hey everyone! I miss you all. I've been very busy lately. I'm currently in transition from El Centro to San Diego since I just started classes at my new school here. I am currently in school right now, so this is the only source for Internet for me right now. xD I'll be moving out this weekend, and to be honest, I'M EXCITED!  I'll be online around this time (between 4 - 8:30 ET). I can tell I missed so much! Ciao.

I still get the error every time I log in.

Sorry about this Tyler.  I have taken some steps to try and block these bots but still some are getting through. I went over the error logs again and noticed you are oddly one of the biggest targets. A bot hits your account about 2-3 times every few hours. There are a couple other members getting hit but not as numerous as you. I have no clue why thats occurring.  I will keep looking into ways to prevent this from occurring.

Here's a question... Why do I only have trouble logging in from a computer, but I never get that login error if I view TWCT on my phone? And it has nothing to do with the mobile version of the site because I have it set to automatically take me to the full site.

Strange. Seems to have been fixed for me... Been logged in for a week now.

There are still attacks now and then but not enough to cause the kind of problems we saw earlier

Wow, February is almost gone, and winter is soon to be over.   Anyone have any plans for March and the upcoming spring breaks?

I know! Its hard to believe. I am loaded with school work right now and working on mid terms before our break next week. My plan is to go to Florida which should be fun!

St. Augustine, FL it was actually a picture taken by my dad on his cell in 2007 but i had no other avatars to think of so i was browsing my pics on the upload form and chose that

The bottom line is that teachers should teach because they love teaching.

And the vast majority of teachers nowadays don't teach for that reason. Choose a job that you want to do, not just one that would make you a millionaire.

So the majority of teachers only teach for the money? I am sorry but from my experience I think thats a bit off. The vast majority of my teachers cared for their students and tried really hard to help students. The average salary is probably around 45K in my area. Everyone has different experiences so it might be different in your location.

Account safety really should be fine as long as its not a really simple word. It seems the attacks are meant to be more of a nuisance than threat.

The TWCT and TWCC links at the top are gone.

This was a mod that has yet to be supported by RC5. It will return shortly

The login problem seems to be fixed. Thanks, Martin!

Sadly the root of the problem is not. Bots are still trying to guess passwords. We will be installing some security mods to help prevent this. The problem might not be as bad since the upgrade but still exists. Many large SMF forums are facing similar issues
