Why is there a banner about the recent Japanese earthquake and tsunami?

My guess would be because it's receiving major coverage on TWC at the moment.
That and its a very important issue going on. It seems appropriate and I appreciate Andy for putting it together for us :)

Thanks! I am really sick though with 103 temp. Probably caught something at the airports. Bleh!!!
That is a high fever! You may need to see a doctor. I hope you feel better.
Thanks I am much better today. It peaked and is hovering around 100F. I cant afford to miss any more classes anyway. I am sure in a few more days I will be back to normal. :)

I guess we'll be starting the front porch in a few more days.

General Discussion / Re: Gas prices in your area

Looks like prices should take a drop. Oil prices have tanked these past few days
Surprising if you ask me... I figured demand would go up after the Japan earthquake.
You know I was thinking the same thing. Patricks explanation does make sense

Also does anyone know when the crisis in Egypt and Libya will come to an end?
Well in Egypt its whenever the military decides to hand control over to some civilian government. In Libya it will end when Gaddafi finishes killing all of the protesters. :/ Not a very promising situation. Libya should really be a lesson to countries thinking of a revolution. Not all revolutions will end well.

Florida rocks. I never want to leave :P
Hey Martin, did you bring that cold air this morning? >_> jk :P but I really hope you love FL!! :)
it was chilly at times down there! haha
I hope you had a great time in FL, Martin!  You just came back from a trip, and soon I'll be leaving for a trip. :P  I'll be in Kansas City, MO for two weeks to attend a training workshop on the co-op program.  I'll still be around if my hotel internet allows it.
Thanks! I am really sick though with 103 temp. Probably caught something at the airports. Bleh!!!

Good luck with your trip :)

Sorry midterms kept me from getting back to you right away. The latest emulator release has a issue with one of its products so I was going to make any new accounts after the fix was made. It shouldn't be too much longer  B)

To follow up from Josh's post above, we shouldn't be dependent on just one source for energy.  Let me give you all some numbers I looked up to think about here:  70% of electricity in the United States comes from fossil fuels alone (coal, natural gas, and petroleum).  Meanwhile, about 90% of France's electricity comes from their own nuclear plants, hydro plants, and other renewable resources.  They don't have to rely on foreign sources nearly as much.  Why can't we be like that?

Anyway, regular unleaded gasoline is $3.26 per gallon in my area today.
Damn right! Nuclear is the way to go. Safe, clean and efficient. France even recycles the fuel rods they use in their plants.

Wow, February is almost gone, and winter is soon to be over. :o  Anyone have any plans for March and the upcoming spring breaks?
I know! Its hard to believe. I am loaded with school work right now and working on mid terms before our break next week. My plan is to go to Florida which should be fun!
Awesome! where do you are you going?

The forum is running VERY slowly today, and most pages don't load the first time.  Or the second time.
Sorry I can not replicate the problem. Things seem stable on my end

Everything seems normal now.  Maybe it was just a temporary glitch.
Might have been. The forum and our host do short maintenance cycles every now and then usually in the morning hours. If the problem persists for more than an hour please report it to us again
