Local Forecast / Re: IntelliStar Changes
« on: July 26, 2011, 10:35:19 PM »
I am very sick of hearing every change blamed on NBC. It's gotten very old, everyone.
Thank you... NBC has owned TWC for three years now so I think we can give that all a break already. Also NBC doesn't make every single little change you see on air.
Yes thats very true. It's quite easy to blame NBC over something we don't like about TWC and that really isn't fair.

Sorry. We take them down as we see it. In fact I just tried to remove the one above but I think Patrick got to it first

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Re: IntelliStar 'Goodies Pack'
« on: July 26, 2011, 03:29:58 AM »
If TWC complained, then my guess would be no.  This site exists pretty much thanks to the generosity of TWC, considering the large amount of copyrighted material that's featured here, and the Star team also very generously participates when they can.  Antagonizing TWC would be the very last thing anyone would want to do here.
From my understanding, I don't think TWC actually complained - it just became a concern that was brought up when TWC became more aware of this site and started participating within the community. The last thing we want to do is have to deal with copyright trouble.

Correct.

IntelliStar 2 Discussion / Re: IntelliStar 2 Beta Launch

Comcast and Verizon could probably care less about the IntelliStar 2.
Right, there's other things that prioritizes on top of that. Besides most people get their weather online now, so I doubt there's much of a demand for the I2 HD.
Quite a lot of requests actually around here. Too bad the damn thing crashes 20min before the severe weather hits.

There have indeed been changes to the Intellistar playlists this week.
Has that really long change been made yet?

Yea I am a little surprised how many people didn't hear of her. The sad thing is I don't think many people were surprised she died. It's a shame.

I too am going on a vacay this Saturday! Ill be headed up to Richmond to see family, then my family wants to pay a visit to Norfolk to see the botanical gardens, then 2-3 days in Williamsburg. :)
The botanical gardens are an awesome place to visit! You will enjoy it. :) Hopefully it cools down just a little by the time you make it here. High at the airport was 100 and at Norfolk Naval Air Station was 103.

Williamsburg is nice..I really enjoy the place , it's historic and Busch Gardens is nearby too. If ur in Norfolk, u gotta take the naval base cruise. I loved the up close views of the battleships! Certainly something not to miss
The historic sections are wonderful to visit. Taking the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry (which is free) takes you on a scenic route to Colonial Williamsburg and the restored Jamestown settlement.

The naval cruises are also a really rewarding opportunity. Not to expensive and you get to tour Norfolk on the water and see the largest naval base in the world! Also Norfolk recently purchased the Battleship Wisconsin, one of the largest and last battleship ever constructed. You can now tour under the decks and all through the ship!
