I think TWC will replace defective legacy STARs, but I don't think they'll ship brand new ones.

I was told it was a "new" unit but it may just be a refurbished one.

When there is severe weather or major weather events. I sometimes watch it in the evening and I would watch it a lot overnight if there was real coverage then.

Im about to finish up my vacation in the Outer Banks. We have an XL here that was messing up quite a bit. Yesterday I set up a conference call between TWC Star Tech Support and the cable head. TWC is shipping out a new XL and it should arrive Monday. Until then were using an Intellistar located nearby. Ive got to say after seeing the XL for so long the IS provides a lot more useful information. I love the XLs graphics but the IS has more info that I can use. Anyway it will be nice to have the XL back in this region. I convinced the guy at the headend not to upgrade to the Intellistar since TWC is giving them a brand new XL. The XL has a good seven years or so and the area the star covers is so small its not worth it. Im told that they wont upgrade until they have to! 

Kinda off topic but I asked about the HD star and I was told they are putting a lot of time into it and a release should be "soon". I asked what he meant by "soon" but I didn't get a straight anwser.

Looks like you copied and reworded a Wikipedia article. Looks real great that you couldn't even put it into your own words. Changing the word "three" to "3" doesn't count. I think I trust Wikipedia more than this.

If the Trammell continues this weekend, I'll record some XL clips and post 'em. 

If this is still going on Sunday I will grab some clips of an XL myself. Ill be down on vacation with an XL. Still nice to hear Trammell all of the time

I really hate it when my cable company sends an alert through the DVR box. All of a sudden it will stop anything Im watching including recordings and show a EAS test message. A big pain IMO since I have never see them send a real alert when there issued.

Well, the date at the bottom of the page says August 14, 2004.

If that was the air date it must have been a re-run. No episodes debuted on that date.
