You do know this transition is only for Over the Air and not cable, correct? The Cable digital transition doesn't happen until atleast 2012 iirc...

Yep i know, but my local Comcast rep told me "When the DTV transition happens many new hd channels would be added."

This is why I get so pissed off about this whole transition. Lets get it over with for crying out loud. Cable had nothing at all to do with the transition. Statements like this confuse the average viewer. Also if they did get rid of analog channels, they would have to give every analog user a digital cable box.

BREAKING NEWS: I just got an e-mail from my cable supt. after I e-mailed him about a 4-*day long Intellistar Outage:

Unit broken. New unit should be in frankfort wednesday with installation upon arrival. Thanks for your patience.

would this mean i get a new STAR ID?

A HDD swap should do the trick. Im surprised that didn't solve the problem. If your ID does not change, then the HDD was simply switched.

Not a bad little batch of updates. Some things I'd request:

• A way to keep the emulator "on top" - i.e; pinned. Right now I'm not sure if it will stay on top if a new window opens up or whatever, so if it does, disregard this.
• Non-baked in Comcast logos, possibly?
• That little Drive C problem I helped you discover.

I know there's still plenty of work to do, but this is still a very good release.

1. I don't think there is any demand for a pinned option. The fact the emulator show up on the task bar is enough for most. I would think atleast.
2. The logo can be changed already with your own.

I just want to correct Martin's last answer-you will get a LF, but not a local one. You'll get the generic satellite LF, which we see whenever TWC has a difficulty. The product Martin is referring to is not a LF product, but rather a TWCi feature provided by your service provider.

Is Satellite pure crap?- If you live in an area with a lot of trees.
Will I have WeatherScan?= Never
Should I be sad?- Yes
How is the HD quality?- Great, better than cable in most cases
How is the DVR?- Nice, Dish is better but Direct TV has a nice one.
How is DirecTV? Amazing for HD channels.
Will I still get my Local On The 8's and the tickers and the other stuff?- No
