these times it's expensive.
Haha indeed. I wouldn't go as far as saying I am in love however. I don't think people my age know what love really is. So to make decisions that could change your entire life forever seem almost foolish to me.

Bush: What is he good for?
absolutely nothing!

The main problem is the parents and the school systems. It has now become more of a business for schools. If they get kids to get XX grades then the school will get more funding.  This requires that the teachers basically teach the state test that measure this all year.  Teachers try to teach what we need to know and not just wants on the test but its increasingly difficult.

I have seen this all unfold through the years. I was declared gifted in several academic areas in elementary school. However in the years they changed how this was classified and destroyed the program that helped smarter kids get ahead. Take for example my 9th grade year at high school. My school was given a HUGE grant to try and improve the gap between smart and dumb kids.  Unfortunately this is an urban area and race fell along that gap as well. Here is what the school decided to do. Smart kids knew to get a good education away from disruptive students and ones who didn't give a crap about school they had to get in honor classes. School performance reports looked at race and increased pressure to change the gap. So for two classes EVERYBODY was honors. It is failing in so many ways. Thank god its only limited to the 9th grade. This was a clever way to get this extra money (that went nowhere near this project) and to allow the dumb kids to say they took honor classes. Its horrible what these school systems are doing and so many of the smart kids are leaving for private schools. I have discussed with my mom and we are going to look at ones over the summer just to see whats out there.

In the end to help solve this issue, take the incentive for schools to get more funding my improving grades. It corrupts the school system and creates a false image while hurting schools that need the funding at the same time. As for parents, they expect the school system to do their job and complain its the schools fault when kids get fat or exhibit poor choices in life.

We have a similar problem around here. On the corner of Saltsburg Rd/Leechburg Rd/McGregor Rd in Penn Hills, there is a CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid (formerly Eckerd). Ironically, the same trio exists at the intersection of Frankstown Rd (PA380) and Coal Hollow Rd, also in Penn Hills.
Walgreens was famous in my area for building right across from an Eckerd. In a troubled economy, Im sure thats going to hurt one or both stores.

Anyone remember Revco? I recall the stores in my area went Revco ->Eckerd -> Rite Aid

LOL, I don't get what people see in Steph. She's alright, but she's not the bombshell you all make her out to be.  :D

In fairness though, I suppose its a matter of opinion. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say, I guess.  B)
She is a great OCM and personality but TWC has worked on that to create some kind of weather talk show. Its something different and I have thoughts for and against it.  If only TWC put as much effort into the other shows and OCMS as they do A&B.

You know when you think about it, I think this is mainly the girls fault. She wanted this to happen and I think seduced that boy. I knew about the birds and the bees when I was that age and apparently this boy did. However there is something very wrong when a girl at age 15  goes to a 12 year old to have a baby. There is something wrong with her and I would almost say she used him. I think consequences (although I don't know what) should be taken against her.  She was old enough to know what she was doing and the full effects.  That boy was not.

Teens today are sexually active. People need to learn and accept that. My school system (and many others) are supposed to teach abstinence however teachers know better and downright tell students the options.  However its using these 1940 teaching strategies in 2008 which cause the problems. Perhaps its difficult to think for adults of their innocent children drinking, doing drugs and having sex but ignoring it isn't the answer. Its that same reason why most of this is occurring in the first place.  While I am not sexually active I engage in romantic relationships but I know the risks and the responsibility it takes to go the next step and Im just not ready.

Tragic indeed. IMO, given the conditions at the time, I'm not so sure that craft should've been allowed to fly.
Rime ice was reported by other planes in the area and likely affected this flight. I imagine since this plane was smaller, the effects were greater. Makes you wonder how (and if) air traffic controllers and pilots take this is to account when landing and taking off.

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Being Nickeled and Dimed

Comcast may take over Charter  :cry3: Charter has nickeled and dimed up to  :censored:  Our Promo ended this month and they charged us for a partial month in addition to the regular month   :hammer:

There is no good cable company  :dunno:
Nobody has mentioned that.

Charter as of now is just restructuring itself. I have not heard of any plans to sell it or get rid of it.

Since 1978, over 2.5 BILLION passengers have traveled on the airlines world wide. This represents about 15 million individual flights. In that 30 year span of time there have only been a few dozen airline crashes where fatalities occurred, and only a few thousand people have been killed or seriously injured. Therefore, your chances of being a passenger on a fatal flight is perhaps one in a million.

Statistically, you have a greater chance of being killed on the ground by a bolt of lightning. To put it in perspective, roughly 30,000 people have been killed in car accidents in the USA in 2008. That's the equivalent of two Boeing 747's loaded with passengers crashing and killing everyone on board, each and every week of the year.

I seriously think Bush tried to screw us up badly before Obama took office...
Sure

Rite Aid could survive... if it didn't spend so much money acquiring Eckerd (all the Eckerd around here switched to Rite Aid early last year). :whistling:
I know. I was against that move. Now there are two Rite Aids (one former Eckerd) less than 1000ft or so apart from each other. Its crazy and just stupid

What's with everyones youtube accounts getting suspended?
Who else got suspended? :club:
narunet, socool375, lightningbolt999...everyone of them uploaded TWC videos
Any idea as to what videos were targeted? Looks like i wont be the only one remaking a Youtube account.
Are they targeting users who upload Local Forecast or users who upload TWC footage (like I just did today) or both?
my guess is local forecasts for the music. TWC videos have not been popular enough for NBC to care enough to have then removed IMO
