Just saw MartinMTWC on there :D
I was shocked!  :thrilled:

Oddly enough the message they posted was a message Evan sent me earlier. I sent TWCWeekend a welcome message. Sorry Evan, dunno how that happened :dunno:

Local Forecast / Re: Intellistar- Do you like the current version?

But TWC just cant keep things forever. As far as consulting their viewers.... Well they don't have any really. The average person doesn't make some popcorn, sit on the couch and watch The Weather Channel that has the same information repeated over again. Do you watch CNN or other cable news networks for hours on end?

Its unfortunate you were young when the icon changed occurred but thats life I guess. TWC has to look for whats in its best interest. Technology is something TWC uses to help create interest in a channel many people dont spend more than 10min watching.  With so much competition from the internet and other sources, TWC has to keep things fresh. Not trying to sound mean or harsh but its the truth.

Dont worry though, at some point in time TWC will do graphic changes again and perhaps choose something different that you will like.

General Discussion / Re: The new iPod shuffle ... ?!

It kinda sound weird and a little scary that it can actually talk to you. (my opinion, though). I'd stick with my sister's ipod instead.  :noexpression:
Thats really nothing new. The software uses windows and mac text to speech to record a whole bunch of tiny recordings. The device cant really speak by itself. This also has been a feature already available for iPods.

Why? It is shocking and quite frankly, appaulling that so many people like the current icons  :wall:
Why is that so hard to believe?? Despite what some people think you cant just have the same thing for over 8 years. Look at your local news. The graphics used to be simple, now they are flashy and advanced. Same with the IS. If you even want TWC to be around at all you should support any change that would help them keep viewers. The average person, 99.9999% of TWC viewers could care less about what the icon is. They are there for the weather. Sure I think we can all agree that the XL icons were great. The XL had a great local forecast but the equipment and software are outdated. Nothing can stay the same forever. I swear listening to some people is like hearing some old person complain.

Wow... I got a little teary eyed just reading that article.    Thats something that hardly ever happens to me. Poor Jeanetta.  :( I wish the best for her and her family. She needs to take care of herself first then worry about getting on with her life.

Are you going to have a domain name? I can say with great certainty that most forums without one will not likely succeed. Nobody wants to go to weatherstar.thisisareallylongstupidname.com  Just a thought...

Of course it's called Weekend Weather Center (well my guide calls it Weather Center but screw my guide). Mike and Bill are doing just fine in my opinion. It has been a long time since I've seen Bill.
I like the team

My guess is NBC encouraged it (not forced) or someone at TWC decided it would be a neat thing to do and passed the idea along.
